Full marks for me. Chocolate and vanilla, light liquorice. Very long taste with great balance. mymaestro (55) - Austin, Texas, USA - FEB 7, 2014
On cask at the Draught House. Pours black with a thin head. Vanilla strong aroma. Starts with vanilla, chocolate and coffee followed by bitterness. Some alcohol burn. User277626 (112) - - DEC 15, 2013
Very dark pour with a slight head. Malty, chocolate aroma with some yeast and alcohol. Strong coffee forward taste, heavy and sweet with the coffee overpowering a modest hints of vanilla. Low carbonation, viscous and smooth on the tongue. After recently trying an unbalanced but intriguing beer flavored with vanilla, I was interested in this one. However, the vanilla was drowned by a chocolate/coffee/whiskey overload. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Cask at Churchill’s for SDBW. Pours a deep ink with excellent coffee cask foam. Someone cask conditioned this one correctly. Great lacing. Nose is sweet, some sharp coffee again. One note. Taste is black pepper, harsher wood, bitter chocolate bar. Thankfully not dusty, boozy, harsh. Just not very rich, weaker cask mouthfeel. JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 4, 2013
On cask. Black/murky deep brown, with a foamy light tan head. Starts of with lots of ground coffee, coffee bitterness, then smooths out with vanilla, sweet chocolate, oak, light bourbon, and hints of smoke. Pretty light on the barrel side. Not my favorite VaS variety, but still quite good.

Bomber. Pours an opaque blackish brown with espresso colored head, exceptional lacing. Nose is dark roast barley, coffee, vanilla, faint dried fruit. Mouth is thick and sticky, bittersweet up front, coffee and bakers chocolate, wisp of vanilla and some sooty notes on the back end with a long bitter finish. Nice porter. anders37 (27588) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 14, 2013

On tap 4 oz. pour at Churhill’s Pub in San Marcos, CA.
Opaque near black with a brown head amazing lacing that coats the entire glass and stays there.
Aroma of coffee, whiskey, roasted malt, chocolate, oak and smoke.
Taste of smokey roasted malt, whiskey, coffee, chocolate, oak, alcohol and more whiskey at the finish.
Medium body and medium/low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 5, 2013
On tap at Old Grove. Pours a black with some brown hues on the top with a one finger tan head which lingers. Aroma is of vanilla, coffee, whiskey (smells like a smokey bourbon) roasted malts, and some caramel. Taste is similar to regular Victory At Sea but is dominated by the whiskey notes and as some boozy aftertaste. Has a medium-full body with a creamy, slighty oily mouthfeel and a semi bitter, slighty bozzy finish. Overall, a pretty nice version of Victory at Sea that could maybe use a little less boozyness to it.
