Appearance was orangish gold with white creamy lasting 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are citrus, tropical fruits, pine then sweet 2-row, crystal malt backbone with a tad of alcohol. Taste are hop forward with lemon, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, pineapple, pine resin with sweet soft malt backing then warming alcohol. Palate was soft smooth CO2 with meduim-full body, then fruity piney warming finish. West coast DIPA all the way that’s well made. superspak (5877) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUL 13, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 8/18/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing lings on the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, orange zest, tangerine, orange rind, grapefruit, pineapple, floral, pine, grass, honey, biscuit, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright hop notes with moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange rind, pine, floral, grass, honey, biscuit, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, floral, pine, honey, biscuit, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of bright hop notes with moderate bready malt balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick, sticky, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden for 10%, with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around nice balance and complexity of hop flavors with a moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth to sip on for 10%. A very enjoyable offering. troopie (2408) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Draught. Dark orange colour. Light hop aroma, rather light for a double IPA. Very powerful flavour. Much hop and alcohol. Long finish Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a solid orange color with large, soft, off white head. Nice head retention. The aroma is strong with notes of tropical fruit, peach, and herbals. The flavor has a solid bitterness the whole way through with a light malty sweetness to balance things out. Nice notes of peach, mango, overripe oranges, and herbals. Well balanced for the style. Medium bodied with softer carbonation and a lengthy finish. A very solid IIPA that’s definitely worth trying. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2013
On tap at The Hopping Pig - San Diego, CA. Big pinecone and resin aroma, back with a bit of nutty malt. Clean. The sweetness level is right and the body really plays off the hops. There’s a slight dusty and seedy quality to the hop finish that I’m not totally in love with, but overall it’s a delightfully big Double IPA with lots of good hop flavor.

Pours clear orange-amber with about an inch of light-beige head. Pleasant aroma dominated by pine, then orange, and tropical fruit. Flavor of hop juice - semi-syrupy, fruity, pine, hint of booze, bitter finish. Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 7, 2013
22oz bottle. Drink 09/09/13 dating.
A: Semi-translucent burnished orange with a steady white head. Plenty of bubbles rising through this one.
N: Pineapple, tangerine in syrup, some earth and pine. None of these elements is in heavy supply, unfortunately. Hops are more floral and herbaceous - there’s some lavendar here and some black peppercorn.
T: Sharply bitter with a biscuity non-sweet malt to prop it up. Probably one of the more bitter DIPAs out there.
M: Very resinous and very, very dry. Lots of alcohol reaching throughout this one.
O: Definitely a beer for people who are searching for the biggest and the most bitter. It’s a well done beer, but it’s not really for me. pdx76 (651) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 6, 2013
On draught at rogue San Francisco - pours out nice cloudy copper color. Thick long lasting head. Nose of grass, malt, booze. Taste of rum syrup, malt with hoppy backend. Really nice beer.

22 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear orange, nice small head, lots of lacing. Malts, citrus hops and alcohol on the nose. Taste is quite bitter but very well balanced with malts, however the alcohol is there and will hit you like a ton of bricks (not that it is a bad thing, just there...) nice sticky finish. Nice beer, very enjoyable. rader58 (919) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - JUL 2, 2013
22 oz bottle. Pours opaque copper color. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, mango, touch of spruce. Flavor is mango, pineapple, peach, caramel, spruce. I really enjoy this. The mix if tropical fruits balanced with a slight bitterness throughout.
