660 ml bottle from winooski shared with Jf and Seb A: a lot of grapefruit, citrusy. App: clear blond small white head. T/p: light body long bitter finish. O: excellent hoppy hop focus. Good bitter bite.

Hazy pale lasting foamy lacy head; aroma is softly hoppy; Flava is harshly hoppy slightly oily; feels thick with slight fizz and foaminess; finishesxry and bitter.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Neillago (thanks a lot man), pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Nose is both very hoppy and very malty, with loads of resinous hops, a little grapefruit and a whopping caramel malt backbone. Flavour matches this, with grapefruit, loads of resinous hops, some tropical fruits, and a big syrupy caramel malt. Not my preferred type of IIPA, as this is a big malty one, and not very dry and highly drinkable. At least there is no cloying sweetness despite the high malt balance. Overall, well-made and enjoyable, but not my type of IPA.

Bouteille 22oz.

This beer was a solo cup special in the lot prior to the Avett Brothers show in Atlanta. Kept the whole bomber for myself. Poured an orangey brown with a decent white head. Nose is grass and booze. Flavor is a tad more sweet than I expected. Overall, I preferred the Sculpin to this brew, which is odd, given my supposed fondness for IIPA. Bottle - Bowery Whole Foods Market - New York, NY

Citrus hop aroma, which matches palate. However, this DIPA is unremarkable at best. Hardly deserving 99 rating

Clear, bright orange in color, this fine double IPA has a bubbly off white head. It has a fresh, spicy, almost minty hop aroma with a touch of bread. The flavor is sweet, but the herbal hops spice it up enough to give it a really attractive palate. It’s almost candy-like with a slight finish of hay. This is a classy double, dressed with a nice mouthfeel and a great body. Impressive. Delicious. Addictive.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of a lot of citrusy hops, some pine/resin, and a good amount of caramel/pale malts. Flavor the same. Smooth texture. A good double IPA.

HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2013
22 oz. bottle. Strong citrus and pine aroma with honey bread and fruit malt notes. Flavor is very aggressively bitter-- in a good way-- with strong citrus rind and pine tree notes. Some malt sweetness tends to peak through but is mostly drowned out by the bitterness. Big bodied, finishes bitter with some present alcohol in the finish. Nice, rip-roaring west coast double IPA here.

Orange-red hue with a light beige head. Aroma is fruity hops-sweet, inviting goodness. Taste is a well balanced taste of malt and hops. Hops are very flavorful but do not overrun the malt. I would say this beer is yummy, yummy, good for my tummy. I am glad to see more Ballast Point beers in my area. Nice lacing.
