UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 Sampled at ABR. Clear orange pour. Mild session IPA. Citrus. Brilliantly crafted in its style. Liked this one.

Bottle. Medium golden hue with an average white head. Green leafy hop character, pale malts, assertive bitterness. Lots of character for such a low ABV, but the bitterness is a bit out of balance.

12 oz can from Total Wine, Sacramento Pours dark gold with a thick off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a slightly bitter citrus finish. Completely balanced.

Cab at Komachi. Doughy, biscuity nose, some stinky tropical fruit, and citrus. Slightly sweet, light but not thin, peppery finish. A bit of strange doughiness. Light and not outstanding but very impressive for only 3.8%.

Tap at Toronado SD. Poured a hazy orange with a thin white head. Good lace sticking around despite the mediocre tap pour. Aroma is lemony, dank weed with massive orange peel oil and perfume. Taste is insanely perfumey and oily bitter then moves to chewy kumquat and curacao. Just not quite enough body to be an IPA- more of an APA. But now Im reading 3.5% abv! Holy $#%@. This is one hilarious mild ale that will destroy your face.

Draft at Dutchs. Pours a hazy golden color with a large fluffy off white head. The aroma and flavor have some toasted bready malts, grass, herbal hops, mild plus bitterness, a bit watery, but decent overall flavor for the abv.

Tap @ The Blind Burro, San Diego.
Pours clear copper color with a small head. Nice hoppy aroma with caramel and oranges, some floral notes too. Malty flavor, some oranges, resinous hops and faint grassy notes. A bit disappointing.

12 oz. can from Root Cellar. Pours a clear somewhat burnt tea-like orange color with a couple fingers of off-white head. Notes of pine, grass, tea, tangerine, lemon, biscuit, caramel, orange zest. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, thin, refreshing mouthfeel. Nothing blasts here, in that west coast IPA kind of way. It lives up to its way in the most satisfying manner.

Draught Small, off-white head over amber-orange ale. Hops, C-hops, but in a discreet citrussy aroma; as well as green apple ester. Very smoky taste, hopscake - even a lot. Cigarette ashes it really are. Quite a lot of taste for such a low-alcohol beer (the brewery blackboard said 3.5 percent!), but the finish is a bit watery after all, and it is discreet - maybe too discreet, but indeed a very flavourful "session"beer.

My Bottom Line :
Mildly honeyed and toasted malts garnish this session APAs citrusy hop resins for lean quenching experience.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the misty bronze.
-The wooden hop bitterness is leveled with the rest of the flavor profiles moderate intensity.
-The mouthfeel is slender, but never thin.
-The nose could be brighter. This smells (and tastes) like a second running brew...

On tap at The Ginger Man, NYC.
