COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

Aroma: citrus, fruity and a bit chili. Taste is more like chili. Taste has a little bit heat(could be more) and fruity. Awesome habanero IPA!

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a semi-clear golden orange colored brew with a smalled sized off-white head compared to the regular Sculpin that quickly dissipates. Aroma of light grapefruit, habanero peppers and caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied with habanero pepper presence that over-powers the IPA hoppiness. Finish is semi-dry with a spicy pepper palate that would make an interesting BBQ marinade. Tongue shock recovery time, about 3 minutes.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden Amber color with a light white head. Tropical fruit resin hops aroma. Big Habanero bite. Medium body. Habanero runs the show. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with a fine particle haze and a white head. Chili heat in the aroma, followed by a mix of green pepper and some citrusy hops. A lot of heat in here, with some bell pepper and black pepper flavor, not leaving much room for the IPA base. I think I still get a suggestion of the IPA somewhere in there, though. Regardless, it’s quite the tasty chili beer.

Flaske. Gylden, noe uklar. Moderat karbonert med fyldig hvit skumtopp. Smaker noe karamell.ellers er det kun chilli.aroma av furunål og grapefrukt. En skikkelig øl for chillientusiaster

Sample shared @ RBWG Tampa. Thanks to whoever brought this! Brilliant gold pour with a small white head. Nose doesn’t mess around. Strong peppery heat. Mellow grain and peach. Similar flavor. Hot sting of pepper with some underlying sherbet and tropical fruitiness. Medium body, moderate carbonation. OK, well made, but not really my thing. Keep pepper out of beer!

The heat is on! Golden color white head. Aroma is citrus and herbal. The flavor contains lemons, oranges, and habanero. This is one of the few beers I’ve ever had that’s actually hot. Regular sculpin is better but this a great spiced IPA.

Iznogud (3800) - CROATIA - AUG 13, 2016
Bottle, 355 ml at Len Hostel, Kyoto. Pours orange with small white head. Citrus, hoppy, pine, until finish which is just a chilli burn, and a lasting one. On the verge of being undrinkable.

Okay, this is a really good IPA with a burrrrrrnn finish. The burn drowns out some of the softer melon flavors of Sculpin, but it’s still a fine, citrusy flavor profile. But it’s hot. And I like spicy foods and peppers, but it’s very hard to drink a can of this yourself. Good to try if you have someone to split the can with. Good in chili or to soak brats, but a little pricey for that.

drjoeng (1291) - SINGAPORE - AUG 3, 2016
7%ABV. IPA. Poured out Amber gold. 8°SRM. Nose has ripe pineapples. Pine, herbaceous and fresh chili spice aromas. Faint Thai mouse chili aroma. Mouthfeel is soapy. There is immediate spicy heat like drinking Tom Yum soup or a curry. Nice slightly lingering burn at he back of the throat. Palate has the malt backbone of a sculpin. Finish is bitter herbs, minty and with the fresh heat of a raw chili pepper.
