Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

It made my lips and tongue tingle, there is no dought that they used some habanero’s a bit to much for me.

En mycket bra IPA i grunden, som kickar in med en rejäl habanero-fest. Jag gillar särskilt det faktum att mjölk och öl rekommenderas för att släcka törsten till kryddstark mat. Här får man så att säga allt i samma glas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at el Bait Shop. Medium gold body with a bright white head. Nose of sweet fruit and bell peppers. The taste has some strong spice of the peppers with some tropical notes. There is also some note at the end.

Glass at the brewery. Pours a golden Amber. The odor is hippy, citrus, grapefruit. The heat builds and finishes just shy of too hot.

Aroma is alright, you get that Sculpin aromas that you know so well, with the citrus and grapefruit notes with that lovely malt base. A very slight mild chili note lures underneath the surface like a snapper turtle ready to bite your tongue off. But beware! Taste starts out fine for a milli second or two. The familiar Sculpin caramelly and delish malt base reveals itself, but before you get that hoppy lovely sting, the habanero kicks in like a 1000 volts connected to your taste buds, and it gets even more in the aftertaste. It’s not you - it’s me, I don’t like spicey beers.

Shared bottle at Mi2 Extended at Cardinal 06.06.16. Pale golden. Aroma of citrus and pickled chili. Hot chili aftertaste.

I really enjoyed this beer and I think they did a great job with the habanero. The beer starts off with a bit of a kick from the original Sculpin. The habanero flavor really comes through and it’s more than heat. You get the taste of the pepper. The heat is certainly present and lingers for a bit. Really nice.

4 oz. taster at BP (Little Italy). Slight chili in the aroma but the taste is all habanero where you can barely taste the hops. Super interesting -- I wouldn’t (couldn’t) drink more than 4 oz. but it was fun to try given my love for all things spicy. A great pairing with the fish tacos.

Beaver (1803) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2016
12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with floaties and a big frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - bready malts, piney hops and a quite a bit of chili pepper.

The flavor is bready malts and some fruit that is quickly overwhelmed by a ton of heat from the pepper. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, nice spice heat, but that overwhelms the base beer. Good chili beer, not much IPA.
