On tap at Capones. Poured a bright copper color with a two finger frothy white head and light lacing. Aromas of tropical fruits, mango, papaya and guava with some citrus and pine on the side, and only a hint of pepper. Taste starts with a mix of caramel sweetness and piney hops and bitterness. There is some growing heat in the background from the pepper, but not too strong. Through the middle, the heat grows a bit along with stronger bitterness. As the beer finishes, the heat explodes and takes over and lingers for quite a while. Medium body with moderate carbonation, sticky and dry.

On tap at World of Beer in Arlington. Clear golden with a large off-white head. Aroma is of grass, peppers, huge citrus, floral. Taste starts with grapefruit, bitter florals, grass, and pepper, the finish is an excellent burning sensation. Very well done. I was worried that the pepper would overpower an IPA that I love. The peppers have a strong presence, but the wonderful IPA notes still shin through. Probably my favorite pepper beer. thornecb (5911) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 30, 2013
Pours deep gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Resin and mild pepper aromas. Sweet resin and caramel upfront quickly turning to an oily pepper that lasts through the long lip-smacking hot pepper finish. Nice, but not a lot of sculpin. krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Slightly hazy light amber. Big hop smell with slight hot pepper scent. Big early hop front that slides into a nice burn. Finishes on a habanero taste but balances with the bitter hops well. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 13, 2014
Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured clear amber with a thick, lacy white head. Aroma was mostly dank and earthy hops. Heat and chili pepper presence with a clean finish and lingering spiciness. Balanced and not too heavy with the heat and actually pepper flavor which was pleasant.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2016 The great taste of Sculpin with a healthy dose of hot habanero. I personally enjoy these pepper beers and this one is one of the best I?ve ever had. Pretty hot but if you see it on tap give it a try! Voodoo (667) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 20, 2014
Pours a clear amber with a white head which dissipates quick.....aroma of earthiness.....taste is normal Sculpin intro with maltiness which turns earthy then HOT in a hurry and lingers. Not my cup of tea but can’t stop drinking it.....it starts to burn deep in the throat and then travel. Quite a difference experience. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2014
First sip was dreadful and I considered pouring it out. But the GF and I started to take a liking to it. Very spicy, only one other beer I’ve had that was more hot. This was a sipper and I certainly don’t think someone could have more then one per session. Steasy66 (1155) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 21, 2015
Dug this quite a bit. The habanero dominates the flavor a bit too much but a good chili IPA. Still some tropical notes but with a strong mouth burn in the finish. GenkiGonzo (1092) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 25, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2015 Bottle from CBB. Almost clear gold, decent lacing. Awesome grapefrut aroma with a hint of green peppers. Flavour starts hoppy and zesty. Soon turns super spicy. Delicious, but two would be self-harm.
