A dry stout with fresh brewed Cafe Calabria coffee. The flaked barley and oats serve to round out the body a little without the malty sweetness. Calabria is an independant coffee importer and roaster located on 30th st. in the North Park area of San Diego. ours with abundant curtaining that settles into an opaque onyx color with red highlights and a thick beige head from the nitro treatment. Subtle aromas of a freshly made cappuccino, milk chocolate and roasted raw barley. Chocolate Malts and 20% Flaked Barley help build the cookie dough flavors and the velvety, silky smooth mouth feel. Medium body is balanced by one mid-boil addition of UK Fuggle Hops. This allows a smooth bitterness and more hop flavor to make its way into this Oatmeal Stout. Some earthy lavender flavors also are derived from the UK Fuggle hops and add to the slight hoppy aftertaste in this very drinkable ale. Our nitro treatment comes from using both carbon dioxide and nitrogen being dissolved into the beer. This creates tiny bubbles and a creamy texture when the beer is heavily agitated while being poured from a nitro tap.

On nitro at the brewery about a year ago. Moderately sweet and quite roasty. Excellent deep brown-black color with solid tan head.

Draft at Winberies. Dark chocolate appearance with minimal head. Thick, chewy oatmeal/chocolate/raisin mouthfeel. Creamy and smooth. Delicious.

Nitro at tylers Carrboro. Black with a big ol thick and marshmallowy yellow tan head as typical of a good nitro pour. I rarely drink nitros and forget how aesthetically pleasing these beers are. Though the nitro pours do make it more difficult to ascertain aroma and flavor. Aroma is light, some metallic roast, marshmallow, oatmeal. No coffee noted. Flavor is meh. A little disappointing for this brewery.

A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice sweet coffee and chocolate with light briny notes. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, silky mouth feel and mineral finish. On tap at Farmhouse Vermont.

Nitro at The Hopping Pig. Thick nitro tan foam with huge retention. Deeper cola color looking nearby black. Nose is hefty Diacetyl. Taste is Weaker, some ashy red apple, gritty roast, diacetyl. Palate is bland, slick dairy, diacetyl. Not good.

Pours a black color with a roasted malt aroma. Taste is carbonated and dry. A thin stout, with a mild oatmeal flavor. A slightly bitter aftertaste that dissipates quickly. A decent dry stout, would of been better with more oatmeal flavor.

On nitro at Old Grove. Pours near black with a creamy khaki head. Aroma is heavy coffee, oats and cocoa. Taste is semi sweet with some nice roast. Thin and dry. Ok.

Nitro tap at Maxs. Pours opaque black with a large, creamy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is leather, chocolate, and coffee malt, plum, oats, and earthy hops. Flavor is dark sweet malt, oats, dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a sweet flavor and lightly dry finish. Medium and creamy body with medium carbonation.

draft at Blue Monk, disappointing. zero body on a Nitro pour. decent flavor & aroma. Coffee, chocolate notes in both. zero body, flat. Must be a mixup somewhere. Not great
