COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Impossibly reddish in color (due to the beets) with nitro cascade fading into a pink cap of stable foam, great clarity. Seeing the beer in the glass shows the obvious resemblance to a slice of red velvet cake (red cake on the bottom topped with a layer of creamy white frosting). But the similarities dont end there. The aroma is dominated by chocolate with earthy notes of beets and subtle wafts of roast coco. The flavor is similar to the aroma but with faint roast and hop bitterness coming in at the end balance it out, not cloying or overly sweet. The mouthfeel is medium and the finish is luxuriously smooth. Its dessert served in a pint glass!

On tap at Beercade Omaha Beer Week 2017. Dark reddish with nice cascade and nitro cream head. Mild oat and beet aroma. Flavor of golden malt, oatmeal, beets, minimal chocolate and no roasted malt as expected for the style. Moderate body. Smooth nitro bubbles. Cake like, velvety texture. Unique but weird.

Nitro tap. Pours bright ruby into a shaker. Creamy head with excellent retention recedes to skim surface. Cream soda aromas. Dry creamy cherry and birthday cake from to back.

I had it from the bottle. It pours red with a light head. The aroma is vanilla, cake, and chocolate. The taste is chocolate and vanilla cake. Its not overly sweet. It was a little thin. This was interesting and different. I wouldnt get it if I wasnt looking for a dessert beer though.

Julian date coding used to indicate bottled on date, 01.18.2017 for this 12floz bottle purchased as a single for $3. Poured "with a purpose" as dictated on the label. Appears a ruby red topped with a soft light pink head as it settles. Aroma follows with cotton candy-like scent, or perhaps something like funnel cake with some berries thrown in. Quite an interesting beer that works. It isnt something too strange, but different enough to standout. None of the flavors dominant, instead all meld together well for smooth and mellow drinking experience. Yellow-cake with an undertone of chocolate adequately describes the jist of this tasting experience. I would have this again. Definitely not true to an oatmeal stout, but so far all the "blonde" stouts Ive had lack a roasted robustness associated with stouts.

Mellow sugary chocolate aromas with a buttery cakelike touch. Its a brilliant beet red with a thick foamy pinkish head. Primarily sweet, but rich, with a mild bitter touch at the finish. Its creamy and smooth on the palate. The profile really does hit a what they intended.

From 12oz bottle to snifter. Pour is a cloudy red, thin white head. Nose is large malt, bready, sugar, coffee, slight hop. Taste his flight bodied, sweet.

Smells like vanilla with a hint of cocoa. Pours clear red with creamy head. Tastes of velvet cake with an alcohol aftertaste. Bitter chocolates follows later. (K)

12oz bottle. 1/12/17 bottle date. Appearance: Looks like cranberry juice, fairly clear, with a very light, thick bubbled pinkish head. Doesnt have that true nitro bubble eruption. Aroma: Chocolate off the top, some earthiness, and cherry. Taste: Light Cocoa led malt sweetness, touch of sweet cherry, then gives way to a strong earthy, vegetal, dirt like character. A very light roasted note on the swallow. Mouthfeel: light bodied with very low carbonation. Doesnt seem to have the typical creamy nitro body. Fairly flat. Finish: Leaves a vegetal, grassy, slightly charred cherry chocolate finish. Quite dry. Overall: the description of this beer sounds interesting, but its quite a mess. A weird balance of slightly roasty cocoa and a strong vegetal earthiness, more like cherry flavor than beets. The earthy character takes over on the back end, and while the beer is expectedly low in carbonation, it seems to be missing the creamy body typical of a nitro. Whether its supposed to remind me of red velvet or not, its not an easy drinker, or a pleasant one

Nitro bottle. Interesting beer. Definitely creamy chocolate aroma. They hit red velvet pretty well but not overly sweet. Almost bitter finish. Creamy, but a bit thin. Points for originality.
