COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As part of the employee R&D program, which brings together teams of two to five Ballast Point employees to concept, formulate, and even name a beer of their own design. Teams then brew their beer on Ballast Point’s pilot brewery in Little Italy. Solid, hearty malt build. Nice mosaic hop profile.

On tap at Hughies. Pours a hazy copper gold with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong pine, grapefruit pith, resin. Medium body, grapefruit, pineapple, dank, resin finish, very good.

Soft heavy hop aroma like you smelled a hundred times before. Lots of sharp hop aroma and huge hints of grapefruit. Flavour is big hops and grapefruit. Lots of citrus either way. Fuck samsung and their shitty phones.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with backing sweetness. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Tropical fruit and grapefruit lingers.

Cooper’s Alehouse, Seattle. Medium head, light clear orange. Fresh mosaic hoppy character from aroma through tasty clean body. Medium bitter. Fresh and crisp but otherwise a oldschool (with new hop) construction. Coating pine bitter finish.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served showing a clear & bright, orangey gold color, with a frothy layer of soft white head foam, and sheeting, wavy spray as lacing. The nose was citrus as grapefruit & orange, modest tropical scent, and some pit fruit sweetness. Medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste combined similar esters with slight dankness, resin, grass & greenery, earthy, rind-like bitterness, and a little alcohol warmth, that resulted in an even keeled flavor, but lacked necessary DIPA depth, imo.

Clear light copper and bronze coloured body with a thin, half centimetre tall off-white head that fades fast. Aroma of resin, pine & grapefruit hops, with a good deal of alcohol, earth and caramel sweetness. Medium-bodied; Resinous and large alpha acid hops noticeable up front with a light sweetness, some smooth earth and a bit of piney funk on the end and a tiny showing of the alcohol. Aftertaste is nice and bitter with a lot of fresh hops, some alcohol and a touch of sweetness. Overall, a good Imperial IPA with a moderate amount of complexity, but a solid profile and worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this 10 ounce pour on draught for US$5,00 at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia at the end of my driveway on 04-November-2016.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent dark gold with a white head. Grape and tropical areas. Med plus body. Flavor is dankish fruit/pine. Not too dry/not too bitter. Just right. Malt is noticeable with time. It’s not over the top DIPA, but very solid.

blipp (9794) - La Mesa, California, USA - OCT 13, 2016
Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Light pale malts, faint crisp citric hops, and a clean finish. Pretty good.
