A little sharp on the alcohol and a hint of astringency hold this one back a little. Still quite pleasant with the base shining a little, but the weakest of them I’ve had. luttonm (6644) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2015
Draft at Toronado, Seattle. Rum soaked raisins, big barleywine flavor. Rich, some leather and cocoa nib. Sweet, brown sugar. Some alc bite. Lovely. Prufrockstar (2132) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - SEP 5, 2015
Draft at tnado. Dark pour. Tan head. Caramelized sugar, rum (I guess. I can count on one finger the number of different rums I’ve had. It makes me think of buttered rum. Which makes me thinks of butter. Which makes me think of shitty beer. But I digress.) sweet, boozy; tasty. cfrancis (3536) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 24, 2015
On tap at Aces and Ales. Pours pitch black with a small mocha head. Aroma is big raisin, sweet rum and light roasted malts. Taste is rich roasted malts with sweet raisins and plums. Add in the punch from the sweet rum barrels and dry oak. This thing packs a whallop. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 7, 2015
Tap at Beer Junction. Ruddy brown. Sticky nose. Vanilla, rum, oak-heavy. Boozy, but huge and covers fairly well. Quite tasty, and aptly named.

Sample at the Aces & Ales Winter Beer Fest on 01/18/2015. The beer is a dark mahogany-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of rum, malt and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of vanilla, rum, raisins and malt. The finish is sweet with a rum and vanilla aftertaste. Pretty good overall. crossovert (13730) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 9, 2014

Pours a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of rum, stone fruits, molasses, caramel, oak, and light booze. Taste is about the same as the aroma with the addition of some oak and light vanilla notes. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a pretty nice barley wine that is smooth compared to the original three sheets and is pretty tasty with some nice rum notes. HighWine (959) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2013
Tap at the brewery. Cola brown pour, still in the glass, khaki head that fades to a thin ring. Complex nose if rum soaked oak, merlot, and corn syrup. It actually reminds me a lot of Utopias but not as robust. Taste resembles the aroma quite a bit but not as sweet as I ha expected. Rum, oak, and sugar in the raw on white toast. Ruby Port wine-like finish.
