Pours a reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of rye whisksy, toasted malts, nuts, rye bread, and molasses. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel, semi bitter, medium finish. Tap at PP OB. Clear ruby brown with a one finger beige head, good retentio . Fresh whiskey in the nose with some nutty toasty malt, a little oak. No old barrel at all. Flavor has a little vanilla added, but still retains the fresh boozy character. Is this their own spirit? Seems like it, though I didn’t know that they did a rye whiskey. 1st rating. Taster on draft at Ballast Point old grove. Pours a brownish red color with a white head. Aroma is rye whiskey and brown sugar. Taste is slight whiskey, vanilla, black pepper and coconut. Unbelievable drinkable for only 6%.
