COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Bottle @ Beer Lady. Pours a hazy orange color, small white head with good lacing. Decent nose primarily of grapefruit and citrus hops with underlying pine notes. Fairly juicy it starts and finishes with bitter grapefruit with a hint of base malts in the middle. Mouthfeel is light-medium with good carbonation. A great west coast IPA and a solid choice.

Visual: (cellared for 1.5 years). 12 oz. can. Pours translucent bright orange with a slowly dissipating foamy head, sticky lacing, 5mm fine foamy retention, very tight clustered micro streams.

Nose: sweet toffee’d biscuity malts, citrus undertones (lvl-6)-pungency

Attack: creamy-smooth, sharp crisp bite, tangy bitter malt impression

Mid-palate: background tangy, very smooth transition, (lvl-3-sweetness), grapefruity toasted biscuity malt

Finish: grainy bitter grapefruit hops, lingering long soft bitterness

Summary: Incredible smoothness from start to finish. Lots of flavour, body, balance, and drinkability for a 7% bitter bomb.

Tasty pale ale with grapefruit twist. Bitter, fresh fruity taste with good aftertaste

This one lives up to its name with a beautiful aroma of ruby red grapefruit mixed with a hint of tangerine and some nougat. On tasting, that grapefruit is bolstered with some bitter hops of the type I’m more accustomed to with Ballast Point beers. The honey malts give it lots of length in the throat and it hides its 7% alcohol very well. I likey.

On tap at the NetApp office in Boulder. Rich amber with a lasting fine head, big green hop and caramel nose with a hint of grapefruit. Full bodied and bitter-smooth, light fruitiness and restrained citrus.

Bottle 355 ml / Bier-Bienne (CH). The grapefruit strengthens the taste of citrus, others fruity flavor are dominated, soft note of marshmallow. The bitter is slightly round, the beer remains mossy, light and the bitterness remains its principal characteristic and its strong heart.

Citrusy aroma. Lots of grapefruit but also some sweet orange. It pours near golden/amber colored body with slight haze. Nice one finger wide white frothy head. Taste is really fruity, but mainly citrus. Loads and loads of grapefruit. Great amount of citrusy bitterness. Lasting aftertaste. Mouthfeel is smooth with medium-soft carbonation. Oily. If fresher this would be bomb!
