12oz bottle. There is a code of some sort stamped on the side of neck, but it’s smeared pretty good. Last I heard, Ballast Point still wasn’t bottle dating, but hopefully that’s changed.mhwilk (6) - Alabama, USA - MAR 29, 2012 does not count
Appearance: Pours orange in color with pretty good clarity. There’s a touch of haze, but this one’s fairly clear. Off-white head stood about a finger tall initially, but has settled to a thin and spotty layer after only a few minutes. There’s some lacing being left behind with each sip.
Aroma: A good mix of citrus and pine in the aroma. I’m definitely getting orange and grapefruit, but I’m also detecting a touch of blue spruce if you will. Very appealing to say the least.
Taste: The bitterness jumps in the drivers seat right from the get-go. After that, the citrus and pine carry over from the aroma and take hold of your palate. There’s a touch of sweetness towards the middle, and it’s needed! Bitter hops linger on through the finish and LONG after the swallow.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with an aggressive bitterness and moderate carbonation.
Overall: A top 10 IPA .....hands down.
Morey’s Bottom Line: As I mentioned, this beer is one of the few IPAs that I’ve had that combines both citrus and pine, which makes it somewhat unique in my opinion. I’m very confident that I could easily pick this beer out in a blindfolded IPA tasting. Recommended.
Appearance is golden and deceiving about what is to come. The aroma is somewhat flowery. Citrus hops flavor good body that is heavier than its appearance lets on. An overall pleasant experience. ADfan (870) - Orange County, California, USA - MAR 26, 2012
It has a dark golden color with a nice head. Aroma is tropical fruit with some floral notes. Taste has citrus with pine. The bitterness definitely comes through in the finish. pari6819 (55) - Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Nice IPA but unexpected. I get stone drug from this though not heavy amounts. It is smooth and refreshing. Clean crisp finish.

Gorgeous golden ale with beautiful white head. Perfect balance of sweet hoppy citrus at the front end with nice punchy bitter on the back end. (22oz Bottle / Walnut Liquorette, Walnut, CA / March 2012)

Just a fantastic blend of hop and citrus tastes, with a smooth finish. This one lives up to the hype. b3shine (8873) - Indiana, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Bottle to snifter. Looks good; burnt-orange. Smells good too; nice and hoppy. Tastes very nice; one of the better IPAs I’ve come across. Mouthfeel is good too. Overall, a very nice beer (although a little pricey at $14.99 a 6er). JStax (6501) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Shared at Jackie-O’s. Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Appearance is a hazy gold with a frothy white head of foam. Aroma is citrus, floral, and herbal hops. Not much in the way of a malt bill. Taste is medium to high bitter, and just a light sweetness. I really enjoyed this and I’m glad to see this is starting to show up in Ohio. Thank you for sharing. cheap (5858) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2012
So, I never tasted it because it was pretty expensive for cheapy. However, I gor a sample of 5 oz for $2, go figure and I don’t even care for IPA; its there so I tried it as long as it was not over $2. Nice lacing from the start. Yes, big bitter on tap pour. Large and dull unsharp hops impacts. Tho not real sharp it is on stupid style. Looks like a pale lager fer sure. polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Bottle with HUGE thanks to peteinSD! Thanks Peter! Aroma has notes of citrus, grapfruit, tropical fruits and caramel malts. Medium amber orange hue with an average white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and heavy bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall a stellar IPA. Great nose and perfect in every other way. Very very good. Loved this one.
