Interesting beer. Thought I should try this as I like more balanced IPAs that have the malt backbone to support the hops.
The pour looked great, clear amber/copper color with white head and smelt strongly of malts, maybe a hint of piney hops in the nose, but mostly the caramel & breadiness of the malts broke through. Slight hint of grapefruit in the nose, but not as much as I would have liked.
Taste wise it wasn’t at all what I was expecting, strong malt-forward beer here that had a strong caramel and breadiness/yeast like flavor with the grapefruit noticeable, but not dominate. For an IPA I was baffled as to how the hops had fallen to the back in this beer.
Mouthfeel is great, it’s a very drinkable beer that’s very smooth, almost no bitterness to this beer, probably due to the lack of dominant hops. Light carbonation.
All-in-all a good solid beer, but not at all what I expected in a balanced IPA. Most of the time I think IPAs as overly hopped up and never would have figured there’d be an IPA that was overly malted up.
Grapefruit aroma light white head. Clear golden appearance. Medium carbonation mellow initial taste finishing with moderate hop bitterness

Bottle in San Diego. Pours almost amber, foamy head. Malty aroma with a little citrus. Taste is well balanced hop, malt, citrus, booze. It's a standard for a reason. It's really good. One or two marks off for overcarbonation. Lowenbrau (4676) - Asturias, SPAIN - OCT 10, 2017

In short: nice resinous IPA.
Did I enjoy it: sure.
Pours hazy dark gold-orange with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Nose is herbal, citrusy, pine, resins, ripe fruit. Medium body, average carbonation, slick texture. Taste is bitter, herbal, resinous, some dry aftertaste. Good one, nice to find fine american IPA´s nowadays, in the days of hazy-juicy-whatever IPA´s. Ok, we have to say this, we heard about this one for so long, were eager to try it, but it was a bit dissapointing, Truly a good IPA, but like many others we have tasted.

Refreshing and clean. Not too heavy and pairs well with wings. I would recommend

Tap, ADT. Pours clear golden range with a sticky off-white head. First thing is citrus hops, grape, orange, tangerine, peaches, pine, resin, caramel malt. Nice oily texture. Long bitter citrus finish makes this tough to set down. Lots of hops, but nicely balanced. Really good. ryd (2) - - SEP 28, 2017 does not count
