Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch SC1447 (BBF unknown). AROMA: medium hop aroma with some oxidation notes already taking place. notes of mango, slight peach and faint dried grass. medium-low almost neutral malt background with a slight oxidation note (caramelized). APPEARANCE: deep gold/orange-ish color and clear. medium white head with good retention. TASTE: medium-low hop notes (resin/pine), followed by a slight caramelized medium-low malt background. medium-high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish that endures. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an american IPA showing oxidation notes and that should be nice fresher. The US breweries should pay more attention to the shipping conditions because the Europeans also want to drink your great beer. ;) Jyrsa (834) - - DEC 27, 2014
Clear amber with a bone white head. Weak nose with notes of mandarin. A two-phased mouth that starts with grassy hops and finishes with citrus. Light body with notably little caramel that’s the scour of most IPAs. icehawk (834) - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Nice fresh citrus/fruity aroma. Apricot, grapefruit flavors dominate, but all in all a extremely well balanced IPA. Very drinkable, but with plenty of character. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - OCT 30, 2009
Cask at Blind Tiger. Poured a clearish light mahogany with a thin bubbly head. Nose is nice floral and piny hops. Mouthful is a bit on the thin side. This is a nice an easy drinker for the hop fan, and also for the non hop fan. The hop flavor is prevalent but not overpowering. There is a hint of sweetness up front, then it is full on hops with a nice and long lingering bitter finish.Very well balanced and extremely drinkable. Delightful fruity/citrus aroma, with bit of cereal behind. Taste is very west coast ipa, lots of grapefruit, other fruit. Quite dry, but a little sweetness in there to start, before fading to bitter, bitter, bitter. Finish is somewhat muted. mikeyo1 (827) - Linköping, SWEDEN - JUN 19, 2016
Bottle @ home. Pours a golden colored liquid with a lasting off white head. Aroma is dry with sweet hop reisins, biscuits, apricots, pine apple, mango and tangerine, honey. Medium bodied, medium carbonated. Taste starts bitter with a balanced biscuit sweetness and great fruitiness Mango, grapefruit, tangerine and bitter orange. Honey and some caramel sweetness. Asserive grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and well balanced. Hopper (827) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2010
A hazy golden beer with a small head. The aroma is amazing, it is wonderful with loads of fruit & some grass in there-lovely. After the aroma I was expecting the taste to match up to that aroma, but oddly it was not as great but still good with some of that fruit & grass showing up with a smooth ending. This IPA is all about aroma, aroma. dnoaksson (827) - , SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2013
RickTStiles (826) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 12, 2013
