Very complex for a single IPA. Mango, watermelon and grapefruit on the tongue with a nice bracing bitter aftertaste. You can really taste the quality ingredients and the time taken to brew this right. Almost worth the $13 per six pack price. At $10 or under this would be the perfect beer.
Hazy orange brown color with light head. Citrus aroma and balanced taste with some sting. Very good MrHult (466) - SWEDEN - MAY 30, 2014
Fat på Monks. Ljus bärnstensfärgad vätska med vitt skum. Doftar mango och nätmelon. Wohoo vilken beska! Mycket besk med stor sötma och fruktighet. Välbalanserad. Ruggigt bra ipa!

Good Beer! Enjoyed this as a guest draught on the ’8th line’ at Lucky’s Lounge in Boston. Hoppy, lovelly aroma and great depth of flavour, good with food. Not in my top five yet...needs more investigation, but I would definately drink this again. Good Job! mbanole03 (2) - - AUG 15, 2014 does not count
Citrus and pine nose. Beautiful golden color. Lingering bitter finish. Very tart. Malts come through at the end. njnut (486) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Poured from tap into Chimay glass a nice amber with white head and lace. Aroma was grapefruit and a bit floral. Taste to me was a better balance between the hops and malt. It was grapefruit not doubt but not a bomb. Med body. Really liked this one, a winner for sure. ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - SEP 2, 2014
Ballast Point Sculpin is listed by many as a great beer. I am often times leery of mass approval of anything, with that in mind I gave this IPA a try. it was poured into a pint glass and did have a very pleasing light color for an IPA. The aroma was strong but not overpowering and when I took the first sip, I realized many voters are just towing the party line. I like IPAs but I get the since many of these brews are made the "drier" the better and to me that takes away from savoring the flavor. I would drink it again but I don’t consider this a fantastic brew. I prefer Ballast Point’s Wahoo White which I consider to be an excellent brew. But for the craft beer aficionado this beer would be well worth a sample beer or two to see if it is your cup of tea (so to speak)

Amazing flavor and aroma, dominated by citrus but with a lot of depth. A little fruit sweetness that balances the bitterness nicely. Not quite a DIPA, but a strong IPA - this level of ABV & IBU’s really allows you to savor each flavor without anything being too overwhelming.
