Opaque black with a thin brown head. Very silly body with necessarily medium-high carbonation.liquidhedonism (289) - Beaverton, Oregon, USA - MAR 13, 2015
Aroma: dark chocolate, fresh coffee, carob, black malt, brown malt, dark crystal fruit notes, a bit of silage, and subtle alcohol.
Taste: black malt, dark crystal malt, brown malt, dark chocolate, nutty oats, balanced hop bitterness, grassy silage notes, hints of licorice.
Great balance between sweetness, silkiness, hop bitterness, and roasted malt bitterness/acidity. Rich and complex, with many flavors, not melding, but all playing perfectly off each other. Excellent beer -wouldn’t change a thing!
22 oz bottle. Aroma: malty, roasty, and boozy, with hints of chocolate and leather. Taste/Palate: creamy and sweet; finishes slightly astringent. Best beer I have ever had. Seriously. Dirtyjoe (4) - Santee, California, USA - APR 26, 2013 does not count
Full bodied and creamy especially on nitro. Complex flavor profile with notes of chocolate and coffee. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Aromas of chocolate and vanilla, with bitter notes. Taste is very well balanced, and long. Cybercat (5737) - Georgia, USA - FEB 1, 2015
Pours warm coffee-brown with a thick head on the light side of tan. Aroma has roast malt, mocha, molasses, and subtle toffee notes. Flavor is, WHOA, a monster! Bold smoky, quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, roast malt, molasses and caramel flavors flow across the palate and leave a lasting impression of a world-class RIS. Thick, heavy texture has decent fizz, and goes down the pipes well. Challenge this monster.

Bottle at Ölrepubliken. Very well balanced stout, perfect maltiness and hoppiness. Chocolate and coffee flavours. One of the best beers I have had! Bama_Hog1 (35) - Hoover, Alabama, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Not as good as Victory At Sea, but still very good Imperial Stout. Black as night. Deep dark roasted coffee flavor. Median thick mouthfeel. Lacing less than I would like for this heavy of a beer. Some reviews say too hoppy. However, imperial stouts are hopped heavily by tradition to preserve them on the long voyages to market "back in the day" so do your research jack wagons. Great IPS.

22oz bottle. This is my vote for the best stout of 2008. Pours dark brown black with a thin, light brown head. Smells dark and malty sweet with some chocolate and slight roast. Tastes deep and dark malty sweet, dark but sweet chocolate and some alcohol. Beautiful. Full, syrupy, but super smooth body, good carbonation.
