Draft at O’Briens. Pitch black pour, bubbly tan head. Roasted malts, dark fruit, raisin, plum, chocolate, oak, and bourbon. Flavors work very well together. Nice beer, complex and delicious.

Poured from a carbonator capped water bottle straight from the barrel. Perfect carb, nose is rich with chocolate and dark fruits, mellow on the bourbon, nice vanilla from the oak. Colby really is the man with the art of barrel aging.

On tap at Urge in RB/Poway. They had 25 different brews from BP that day. Tasted side by side with BA VaS and Black Marlin. Not as smooth and rich as VaS, but thicker and richer than the Black MArlin. This was a great complement to the sharp coffee and cocoa. Added rich smooth alcohol flavor. Lovely.

Nitro pour at Matty C’s. Amazing lineup for a one day event. Pours a dark brown almost black with creamy, swirly latte head. Really a cool looking beer from above. Aromas of milk chocolate, light coffee roast, sweet malts, whoppers, and a touch of JB. Mouthfeel is as smooth as can be. Awesome beer.

Deep black in color with nice tan head. Vanilla, coconut and caramel aroma. Boozy tones over those nice bourbony flavors and with a sweet roastiness.

Aromas of chocolate, coconut, wet barrel, bourbon, barrel wood, dark malts, dry oats, caramel and hints of leather. Pours black with a very thin brown foam and almost non existent lacing. Taste brings smooth, decadent chocolate, chocolate syrup, dark wort syrup, and dark grain malt. Mid palate offers spectacular barrel notes with plenty of bourbon, coconut, vanilla, oak, caramel and leather. Finishes with almost a lactose characteristic and mild bourbon booze. Overall, this takes the base beer to the next level. Tons of chocolate, coconut, vanilla and bourbon overtones. Great stuff.
