Black draft pour at Flying Saucer in STL. Tan head. Rich coffee and toffee aroma. Flavor is cocoa, coffee, Carmel and rich. Pretty good. Not getting the barrel aged part much. Emeister84 (2580) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 26, 2016
Aromas of clay, cocoa, cherry, chocolate cake batter, light booze, bourbon. Flat black with a mostly lasting beige head. Dry, raw cocoa, burnt cherry, char, booze, bourbon, vanilla. Full bodied, chewy. Thisis12ptfont (1221) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - OCT 12, 2016
Aromas of chocolate, coconut, wet barrel, bourbon, barrel wood, dark malts, dry oats, caramel and hints of leather. Pours black with a very thin brown foam and almost non existent lacing. Taste brings smooth, decadent chocolate, chocolate syrup, dark wort syrup, and dark grain malt. Mid palate offers spectacular barrel notes with plenty of bourbon, coconut, vanilla, oak, caramel and leather. Finishes with almost a lactose characteristic and mild bourbon booze. Overall, this takes the base beer to the next level. Tons of chocolate, coconut, vanilla and bourbon overtones. Great stuff. DedicatedToFun (4003) - Santa Monica, California, USA - JUL 3, 2015

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Big Wood 2013, pours black with a medium creamy tan head. Nose brings out intense whiskey notes, with subdued vanilla and a touch of roast. Flavour is insanely whiskey-dominated - there’s nothing left of the base beer here. Something weird about this that makes it difficult to drink - maybe some aniseed / mouthwash. Quite boozy and barrel-heavy. Difficult to drink much off. Off the mark to me.

Pours dark clear brown with tan head that dissipates quickly. Smells of woodsy and coffee notes. Tastes of bourbon with light coffe and cream. Ends the perfect kind of coffee bitter. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Tap at Churchill’s for SDBW. Pours ink, low foam. Nose is bigger, sweet bourbon, sweet cherry, mild tomato paste. Taste is stickier, sweet cherry, thicker butterscotch candy, Drinkable but sweet and boozy. No finesse.
