On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow gold with small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong smoke and peat. Thin body, smoke, wheat, peat, good.

Smoking a Helles Lager is a rather good idea, but Smoked beers can be tricky. Smoke Screen somehow manages to be rather smoky yet still tastes like a Helles. Gold coloring, clear body. There’s a bready, malty sweetness and the meaty, savory goodness associated with many smoked brews. An attractive and expertly balanced smoked lager. 55x11 (85) - - NOV 1, 2016
Clear gold with white but rapidly receeding head. Aroma of smoke, meat. Medium low carbonation. Crisp slightly bitter finish. Excellent Helles. Smokiness doesn't overwhelm.

Rating #1557 - Pours yellow in colour with a fluffy head that fades quickly. Distinct smokey ashtray aroma from this pour. Mild alcohol warmth, predominant smokiness on the palate overload this light sweet malty brew. Balance was tricky, just too much ashtray. mixmasterob (1058) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 4, 2015
Tap @ Hop City in KSM. Clear golden pour with a frothy white head. Aroma was bready and cereal malt, hints of grass, maybe a touch of smoke. Flavors were a different story. Tons of well rounded smoke, light bready malts, slightly bitter dry finish. Love the smoke character in this one, in your face without being too much. Great stuff.

Draft at BP Miramar. Pours clear bright gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like smokey wood, ash, citrus hops, and pale cracker malts. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like ash, smokey wood, dry cracker malt, and light citrus. hopdog (12833) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 4, 2015
On tap at the Ballast Point tasting room in Little Italy. On Cask. Assume this is the beer - on menu as Beech-smoked Hellos w/Bourbon Soaked Sugar Maple Chips & Maple Syrup. Poured a golden color with a small sized head. Smoke, citrus, earthy, and some maple. BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - NOV 23, 2014
On tap at their place in little Italy. Pours a fairly clear yellow. Aroma is smoke with some floral and slight lemon. Nice beer but tastes salty. Finishes clean.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 "Another smoke beer than BP hits outta the park. Much lighter in body and flavor than the Abandon Ship, but with similar smoke character. Very nice aroma and flavor. Not subtle, not too much...juuust right."
