UPDATED: MAR 26, 2010 Tap @ the Linda Vista location. Pours a deep non translucent copper color with a creamy beige head that left nice lacing. Nice nose of bourbon, oak, hint of red wine, and a ton hop caramel and toffee with some citrusy hops still present. Flavor was full of bourbon, oak and toffee while still remaining fairly hoppy and bitter, damn tasty stuff. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 16, 2008
Brown with a creamy head. Caramel and wine aroma. Sweet tangy and sour taste with a dry oaky finish.

On-tap at Stone. Sorry if this has already been added and rejected but I think it deserves its own entry so I will give it a whirl. Pours hazy dark amber with red highlights. Thin, fizzy, off white head with good lace. Smells rich and dark malty sweet. Lots of grape and wood character with just a hint of bourbon. Tastes malty and sour with lots of barrel and grape flavors and a little bourbon. Sweet. I think the sourness might come from the wood. Medium body, very fizzy carbonation which king of detracts from the beer I think.
