PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Cask. Pours orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is nice sweet and a bit of dried fruit. High alc in the taste, not much of a great taste otherwise. disappointed. 1FastSTi (3361) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Tap at Ballast Point. The beer pours to a deep mahogany body with a white head. Aroma of grains. Flavor of sweet malt and a light spruce hop. Medium body and unfortunately, it had a little diactyl. NikkTwist (3306) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 1, 2016
Draft at Tria Taproom. Very dark clear garnet pour with a fair amount of soapy beige froth. Splashes of lace. Medium-dark malts. Somewhat sweet on top but finishes mostly dry. Plums and prunes. Black grapes. Toffee. Carob. Molasses. Coffee candy. Pomegranate.
Caramel apple cider. The hops brighten things up, maybe too much. Makes everything feel fresher. Boozy but drinks well. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 17, 2010
The aroma is sweet and malty. The color is dark ruby black with a tan white head. The flavor of sharp sweet thick malts like in any barleywine. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - MAR 12, 2005
on tap at the "Twisted Stick", one of iceman’s favorite dive bars. Had this one for his going away party.
This is a very easy to drink barleywine, Malty & sweet up front, but not too heavy, it was slightly tangy on the finish. Very nice.

Taste of roasted malt, pineapple, orange, peaches, toffee, citrus, booze, dried fruit, tobacco, caramel earthy hops, chocolate, red grapes and brown sugar with even more fruity and malty flavors presenting themselves as it warms.
Medium/full body and high/medium carbonization.

On tap @ O’Brien’s San Diego. Beer poured a deep rusty amber color with a thin, off white head. Nose of dried dark fruits like Raisen, pruns, dates? Alcohol was present but, not overwhelming. A good bite on the finish. bpreo (2903) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUL 2, 2016
Part of the Victory at Sea campaign. I think this one is aged in a rum barrel. Outstanding! Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - NOV 17, 2008
Tap at the brewery. Beautiful dark brown/red color, very little head. Nice aroma, slightly sweet, caramel, dark fruit. Awesome beer, very easy going down with a nice hop bite to it. This is the kind of barleywines I like. cards04 (2857) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 8, 2014
A really interesting barley wine.. Pours a dark mahogany. Aromas are sweet and vinous. Dark fruit too. Flavors are sweet raisins, dark fruit and a nice cherry tang on the back end. Some booze too. I really liked this.
