The beer poured a brownish red color w/ orange hues; thin lasting head and lacing. The aroma had caramel, dark fruit, slight citrus, and plum/raisin notes. The flavor had dark fruit, caramel, malts, slight citrus and hop notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and creamy w/ a dry finish. Snojerk321 (2984) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 15, 2007
On tap @ O’Brien’s San Diego. Beer poured a deep rusty amber color with a thin, off white head. Nose of dried dark fruits like Raisen, pruns, dates? Alcohol was present but, not overwhelming. A good bite on the finish. golubj (1377) - San Mateo, California, USA - DEC 24, 2007

The 2009 Great Alaska Beer and Barleywine fest. Clear dark amber with no head. Big caramel and pit fruit aromas with some alcohol. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Sharp caramel and pit fruit sweet flavors with spicy, hot alcohol to finish. Aged Barleywine 101.
Draught at Toronado SD. Very pleasant and drinkable barley wine. Not overpowering at any point and certainly easy to drink. Seemed very mellow and I did not get some of the heat from the alcohol that others mentioned. Solid barley wine that is true to type.

Served from tap at the brewery. Appearance is clear bodied amber hue with no real head. The aroma and flavors of this barley wine are more English tasting with the malt profile. A nice toffee and caramel flavor adds the sweetness to this brew. A good barley wine that has some unique notes. awiseman01 (469) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - SEP 22, 2009

Location: Draft at Cork City, 12/15/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly malty, with caramel, molasses, toffee, and some earthy hops
Appearance: It was served in a tulip, with a dark reddish color to the pour, and a beige head
Flavor: The flavor is medium sweet and fairly malty, with a solid earthy and a little citrusy bitterness
Palate: This one has a medium-full body, an average carbonation, and a bit of boozy heat
I thought this was some pretty good stuff. It has a bit of heat from the alcohol, but it doesn’t overpower the beer. It isn’t a perfect Barleywine or anything, but it is a more than solid offering.
On tap at Barley Wine Fest at Toronado. Pours a clear chestnut brown with khaki head. Aromas of molasses, caramel and alcohol. Full mouthfeel with lots of bread, molasses and full grain with some slight dark fruit. anders37 (27635) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 24, 2013
