A dark mahogany red ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth pungent and meaty and floral hops with treacle notes. In mouth, a beautiful vinous malt, nice and smooth, with floral and resinous hops, very nice, doesn’t buckle your tongue, it makes love to it. Bottle shared by Ratman. Pours lightly hazy amber with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy, pine, and resin hops with fruity esters, cookie and biscuit malt. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, fruity esters, supporting malt and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with WeeHeavyHD (thanks!). This one initially poured all head. Settled into a medium to deeper orange color. Aromas of pine, toasty, caramel, and citrus. Tastes of citrus, caramel, a little fruity, pine and floralness. Tastes definitely nice and hoppy but also had a nice balance. Medium alcohol burn in the finish. Lacing left on the glass. UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 "the version i had,still called Tongue Buckler, was at 10%! and came across as a strong ale/hoppy bw/or sweet double ipa. generoua=sly hopped but candi malty sweet. very good. you could tell the abv was high, but no heat. big body, lasting malty finish with a bittersweet aftertaste."
