Prepare to walk the plank to an Ale of overwhelming proportions. More hops & more malts than any land lubber can handle. After this experience...your tongue will be buckled. The I.B.U.’s (International Bitterness Units) are off the scale on this ale. Be forewarned, those with a timid palate, this is not a wee beer! Handcrafted in small batches for those sailing the seas in search of great ales.

A dark mahogany red ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth pungent and meaty and floral hops with treacle notes. In mouth, a beautiful vinous malt, nice and smooth, with floral and resinous hops, very nice, doesn’t buckle your tongue, it makes love to it. On tap at Barcade Brooklyn, Dec. 30 2011.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with WeeHeavyHD (thanks!). This one initially poured all head. Settled into a medium to deeper orange color. Aromas of pine, toasty, caramel, and citrus. Tastes of citrus, caramel, a little fruity, pine and floralness. Tastes definitely nice and hoppy but also had a nice balance. Medium alcohol burn in the finish. Lacing left on the glass.
