Amber color almost Brown, hoppy citrucy Carmel nutty coffee very malty aroma, taste the same as aroma slightly bitter malt is there on the end to balance it out. Amazing mouth feel very easy to drink! Another great beer! Wow! One of the best tasting beers I have had. beers4ever (8) - California, USA - NOV 14, 2012 does not count
This beer has a huge presence of hop making it a more bitter beer then the other brews from ballast point. astanford (51) - California, USA - JAN 16, 2015

Pours deep red/orange. Nice dark fruit flavours similar to a strong Belgium beer, not too much dry after taste that i can feel. I drink too many IPA’s though..

Pours deep copper with a one finger white head. Medium lacing. Aroma is wonderful. Doughy bread. Like an early morning bakery. Taste is rich caramel with a bitter end. Chewy. Spicey lingering aftertaste. Excellent. beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - MAR 26, 2014
Pours a burnt amber color with a khaki head and beautiful lacing. Dank, resinous hop, caramel, malt and citrus aroma. Big resinous hop, malt, caramel, toffee and citrus flavors. Medium full body and average carbonation. Very bitter but very well balanced. Caramel and burnt citrus finish. S_Side_Smitty (775) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2013
Pours opaque red-amber with a thick light tan head. Aroma is sweet malts and faint pine hops. Wow. The malts and hops are on equal footing with this one! The first taste is chalky thick malts. Everything seems to come together in the mid palate - an interesting malt/hop blend. The hops really show in the finish with an insidious bitterness. Awesome red ale!! zizzybalubba (1869) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - AUG 11, 2013
22 oz. bottle from Tasty Beverage Company, Raleigh, NC. Deep rusty orange pour with a reddish hue and a thick off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, wet grass, and light toffee notes. The taste is awesome with bitter grapefruit, pineapple, and tangerine combined with an assertive caramel malt backbone. Somehow this is easily drinkable even with the high bitterness and alcohol. As with many "American Strong Ales" this is not quite a DIPA and not quite a barleywine. Great brew!
