Johnstledger8 (1265) - Dublin, IRELAND - OCT 31, 2016
Draught. Pitch black with a quickly fading brown bubbly head. Aroma is of rum, dark fruits, blackcurrant, plum, raisins, dark chocolate. Taste is of more dark fruits, figs, raisins, plums, blackcurrant, rum, hint of coffee and chocolate. Sticky oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of booze, chocolate coffee and vanilla. Taste of chocolate, coffee, rum, vanilla, roasted malts and slight oak. Full bodied, perfect carbonation, boozy finish. Nice barrel aging complimenting this beer.

Poured up on tap at the Tempe WoB where it exhibits a deep dark brown sort of mahogany colored body that supports really no head at all. The aroma pulses with a blend of boozy rum and a boozy sugary sweetness and then straight up booze. The taste is sadly similar where I’m getting little in the way of “beer” but just hot boozy rum from front to back with a light brown sugar note. I don’t get these barrel aged beers where the barrel is allowed to just crush the base beer.

Zymurgeist2 (2330) - Redwood City, California, USA - FEB 11, 2016
Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in redwood city. Deep chocolate and powdered cocoa with heave vanilla and booze. Black with sustained deep brown head. Taste is overt chocolate. High roasted bitter comes in during the back half. Slight smokiness and vanilla.

Dfonorow (2250) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2016
On tap at FoBAB 2015. Pour is jet black with a very small beige head. Aroma and flavor of molasses, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and fruity jam. Finish is much of the same plus a bit more booze.

Poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was big vanilla and coffee, chocolate and barrel. Flavor similar, very well integrated barrel, takes an already amazing beer and turns it up. Awesome.
