12 oz single bottle from Molly's Spirits. Black appearance with a tan colored head. Aroma of vanilla, cocoa, coffee, mild roast, light bourbon barrel and a touch of rye spice. Similar flavor, rich, complex and smooth with a bittersweet balance and a light oak finish. A pleasant sipper overall. jackl (8555) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 16, 2018
Bottle from Total Wine, Minnetonka. Deep brown pour with an elegant tan head. Nose suggests plenty of sweetness. Burnt brown sugar, chocolate ganache, mellow bourbon heat. Plenty of toffee. Sweet, but well-integrated set of flavors. Rocky road fudge. Woody vanilla. Rich, dark malt. Hot, but silky and fairly smooth. Much better than previous iterations of BBA VAS that I've tried. Nice to see this (formerly?) great brewery putting out this excellent iteration of a classic. Kudos. drfabulous (8813) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JAN 14, 2018

12oz bottle - pours a midnight black with a fluffy tan head. Great aroma of cocoa, vanilla, light roastiness and a whiff of bourbon. A silky mouthfeel delivers espresso, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon notes, a hint of rye spice and a pleasant warming feeling as it goes down. Jet black with a tan head. Aroma of toasted wood and bourbon, but not overwhelmingly boozy like some barrel aged beers. Robust roasted malt flavors with a bit of wood from the barrels and a vanilla/coffee combination that is quite nice. Lingering woody/vanilla finish. Really excellent. luttonm (6963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2018
Bottle in Seattle. Rather starkly contrasting gray/white head on a very dark black-brown body, thick oily and heavy. Aroma of coffee and coconut. Clean bourbon booziness. Very well developed and complex body. Bitter cocoa and coffee, well rounded bourbon and rye, peppery booze. Enjoyable and deep. Alcohol well hidden, drinks smooth and thick but not cloying. Moderate sweetness. Very nice. jhamp9 (2008) - Corinth, Texas, USA - JAN 7, 2018
Near black pour with a khaki head that fades to a ring. Fine lacing coats the glass. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, milk , chocolate, and bourbon. Taste is very barrel forward. Bourbon and rye come first with vanilla, coffee, and chocolate as secondary flavors. Lingering bitter dark chocolate aftertaste. Boozy. Full slick mouthfeel.
