COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the worlds oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Chewy, chocolatey yumminess. Complex flavors overshadowed a bit by the alcohol. Overall, an outstanding brew

Black in color with a sustainable tan colored head. The aroma bursts with robust mild to dark roast coffee mellowed out by smooth rich vanilla. The palate is treated to more of the smooth vanilla and bold coffee with a long roasty finish.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Dark, almost black-brown with a thin tan head that nicely laces the glass. Aroma is cocoa and roasted coffee with a faint hint of vanilla in the background. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, creamy and Id say fairly full bodied. Nice bitter finish. At its best on the warmer side of cellar temp. Very enjoyable.

A 12 fl oz bottle with a Julian bottled on date of 16044, meaning it was bottled on 13th February 2016. Poured into a snifter. It poured an almost black colour with a just over one finger tanned head that had decent retention and left sparse lacing. Aromas full of roasted coffee bean, milk chocolate with hints of vanilla plus caramel. Taste starts with roasty malt and bittersweet chocolate, followed by light caramel sweetness and a hint of vanilla. Finishes with strong espresso bitterness. Creamy, medium to full bodied with low carbonation. Overall not getting as much vanilla as I would have hoped for, but still has nice roasty and bittersweet chocolate and coffee flavours.
