COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

In! Very complex beer. Black heavy pour with thick tan head. Not much lacing. However, this is a great tasting ale. Roasted notes of coffee and malt lead with vanilla in the middle, and then bam, just the right amount of hop character to finish it off. And it packs a punch as well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really dark brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, cacao and a light fruity note. Taste has sweet chocolate and coffee with some slightly artificial vanilla notes. Bitter cacao on the finish and continues on the aftertaste. Medium plus body, quite smooth on the palate. Quite nice overall, good balance between sweet coffee and bitter cacao.

This was an experience, the coffee wollups you while a present hippiness leaves the beer finishing like a beer. It’s a kick of flavors and it is definitely bold, in the end it’s palate take away slightly and it just isn’t quite all there for a 5, but it certainly is one of the better beers I’ve had in my beer tastings.

From tap. Mmmmmm. Very nearly black, medium cream head. Smells and tastes of coffee. Nose is fresh roasted coffee beans and vanilla. Tastes dark chocolate, espresso, dark malts. Lingering bitter chocolate, coffee finish. Holds the alcohol well. Great stuff.

Optisch einwandfrei, bei 10% werde ich mal nicht über den Schaum meckern. In der Nase sehr intensiver Kaffee. Setzt sich im Trunk fort, dabei extrem gut trinkbar. Cremig. Schokolade ist auch dabei. Wenn dann nur leicht alkoholisch. Ausgezeichnet!

Bitterness is strong and it dimishes the vanilla taste and aroma. Strong coffee flavor as well. Except these two facts great imperial porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

aroma is very pleasant. there’s something off about the mouthfeel, it could be flatter for my tastes. Otherwise a very good beer.

From the bottle. Pours cola black with thick khaki head that hangs around. Scent is cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and malts. Taste is big and similarly complex with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and more. No alcohol to speak of despite the high alcohol content. Big body and very smooth. Finishes with a mild coffee bite. A really excellent imperial porter.
