COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Strong hearty malt base, pronounced coffee aroma with strong appeal, what an Imperial should be.

Pours jet black and opaque with a tan head and an aroma of vanilla. Tastes of viscous coffee, chocolate and vanilla. It’s full bodied, resinous and dry.

Great porter. Strong coffee and vanilla notes, balanced sweetness with acidity from the beans. Encorporates the high % like a boss. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ciemny brunatno-wisniowy praktycznie nieprzezroczysty. Duża piana. Aromat głównie kawa i czekolada. W smaku dochodzi jeszcze trochę wanilii może jakieś owoce.

Visual: (cellared for 0.5 years). Pours beer bottle brown without much of a head, half layer of lasting retention, micro streams surfacing,

Nose: sweet roasted barley malt, vanilla, roasted coffee bean, caramel brown sugar malt. Can't get much better than this. (lvl-6)-pungency

Attack: mild slick/thicker-soft crisp, roast malt impression

Mid-palate: subdued zingy alcohol, soft background sourness, (lvl-7-sweetness), roasted coffee, caramel roast barley malt

Finish: vanilla, residual sweet malt, roasted coffee malt exhale, alcohol hit, roasted bitter hops

Summary: What on earth?! Impossibly smooth and very drinkable for a 10%. It does get somewhat heavy 2/3 through, but I appreciate the robust roasted coffee malt profile and integrated vanilla that makes each sip a delight. Excellent quality, wishing for more creamy milkiness to make it truly phenomenal.

Marstonlad (940) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 1, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2017 Bottle from Alko, Espoo. Pours jet black with a little white head. The aroma features coffee beans, vanilla and a touch of licorice; fairly roasty with some vanilla adding twist. Taste is light sweet initially and medium to heavily roasty. Flavours of strong coffee, rye bread and licorice; only a touch of vanilla, not too much. The palate is medium to full bodied, smooth and low in carbonation. Tasty and fairly balanced as well.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2017 290917. Bottle at Praha, Tampere. Pours dark brown black with a smallish head. Aroma coffee, vanilla, roasted malts, licorice. Dry ashy palate. A bit too much on the vanilla for my taste. Not Bad.

Bomber. Aroma is coffee, licorice, a little sweetness. Black in color with a thick tan head that slowly fades. No real lacing. Balanced sweetness and bitterness, licorice. Med to full bodied. VERY tasty! Definitely doesn't taste like 10%!

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2017 w całokształcie cholernie kawowe i mocno palone piwero, bez kompromisów, ale i zbyt jednowymiarowe, jak na imperial porter to trochę brakuje mi ciała, ale i tak smakuje.

65 cl bottle, served in snifter. Poured almost completely black with three finger tan head. Aroma: roasted espresso beans, vanilla, dark chocolate, dark fruit. Taste: strong espresso, vanilla, caramel fudge, dark chocolate, salty licorice, dates, dark fruit, pepper, soy sauce, butterscotch, roasted nuts. It’s all about coffee and vanilla in this brew and I am lovin’ it. Medium body with a roasted coffee infused bittersweet finish. Delicious imperial porter!!!

A top 5 coffee beers you can hope to find. We’ll balanced qith just the right amount of carbonation provides the perfect mouth feel for this kind of beer. Alcohol is well hidden giving you a rich coffee-chocolate stout that is very drinkable.
