Pour is a dark brown, thin, with no head. Smell of light caramel, malt, and bready. Taste follows, dull caramel and bready background. Meh PugUglyBrewer (663) - - NOV 23, 2016
Dark brown to black color with a short-lived white head. Nutty, vanilla and slightly caramel aroma and flavors. Boozy burn at the end; surprising for only a 7.2 % brew. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 2, 2014
Brownish pour, beige head. Caramel malt, wheat bread, doughy malts, yeast, sweet and grainy. batneil (719) - - OCT 23, 2012
Not unpleasant, but I couldn’t drink a lot of it. I thought it had a chocolatey taste. It pours very dark, almost black. Moderately fizzy. BeerFunGuy (875) - California, USA - SEP 21, 2012
This beer has that typical double bock aroma. It is smooth with a almost sweet taste. Another plus it has one of the coolest bottles I've ever seen.

Got a Ballistic Brewing sampler ... first one I tried was the double bock. Dissapointing, after a dark pour with average tan head, smell was weak. Flavor was almost nonexistent, watered down even. Not a quality beer. SDalkoholic (2393) - Linda Vista, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Bottle from Fresh and Easy: Poured a dark brown that was nearly opaque while a delicate pillow of foam head slowly dissipated. The drink is primarily caramel like toasted malts that have a semi sweetness about them that makes this different than most other bocks I have tasted. However, the aftertaste seems watered down and doesn’t have any real substance of flavor linger around like a rich beer would, so in the end this end sup coming short. dwyerpg (6187) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 17, 2012
This is okay. Some sweetness and malt but surprisingly thin. Not much body or definition. Okay at best. vicipa (3) - - AUG 2, 2012 does not count
Poured from a bottle it smelled and looked quite good but taste was lacking a depth and complexity of flavor I was expecting from a double bock. Just not that interesting. bb (9274) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 4, 2012
Bottle. Dark mahogony beer with a tan head. Caramel and light fruity aroma. Earthy and caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel andearth lingers with light citrus. First beer in a long time I poured down the drain.
