It might be pale but there’s nothing weak about this bad boy. This XPA’s tropical and floral aromatics set off a fruity palette that will punch your taste buds in the pleasure zone. Tailored for those who enjoy a fully-hopped beer that’s still easy to drink.

From a 375ml can on 16/2/2018. Voted as the hottest craft beer at this year's GABS so here goes! Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head. Has a light sweet fruity aroma, featuring tropical and stone fruit. Flavour wise, it's sweet and fruity (passionfruit, peach), with a hint of spice, against a light bready malt background. Finishes with a modest bitterness. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. All up, a pretty solid, well made, easy drinking APA, though I think there are better Aussie made ones out there (eg. Pirate Life, Hop Sauce).

Can from somewhere. A lovely cloudy golden pale ale. Great flavours that dance across my palate...or is that palette? Thanks for keeping the confusion going out there Balter. Either intentionally mindf&*&ing their drinkers or a genuine booboo. Not sure. Soapy thin foam. Gorgeous smell that doesn't translate in the flavour. Really very nice but I just don't get the fuss over this beer.

Can from Dan Murphy’s. Pours a cloudy gold with half a finger of foam. Lovely lush tropical aroma, grapefruit, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit. Not too in your face but fragrant and fresh. Similar in flavour, fruity and inviting, with a clean biscuity malt bill, and staying consistent from front to back. The feel is perfect - soft and with a mild bitterness, it rounds off and falls away to a clean finish. This strikes a harmony between balanced ingredients, enjoyable flavour, and redrinkabiilty that really won me over. Best PA I’ve had in ages.

Fruity aromas, hint of galaxy. Appears hazy and golden, bit of sediment, light carbonation, small head. Smooth and creamy palate. Hoppy flavours, hit of tropical, low bitterness. Overall: great beer for a summer arvo, strong, fresh, highly drinkable, and the tinny does no harm to the flavours.

Clear, pale as... Bit of head. Sniff of pineapple... Supposed to be Galaxy, so a bit of that coming through... Not much haze so I don't know if there is much wheat... Clear and nice...

Day 11 of my advent calendar 2017.
Judging by the ratings this one is a little hit and miss of late, but luckily my sample was definitely on point!!
Into a tulip, chilled. Settles and unassuming medium gold with moderate, minute carbonation raising a flaccid, soppy white foam tat dwindles rapidly. Anyone would mistake you for downing a glass of Carlton Draught, but that is where the similarities end. Nose hints at candied lemon, pineapple, Semillon grapes and tangelo over hints of cumquat, fig and paw-paw - very nice. Well rounded fruity palate balanced out by by chewy malts. Body is uncumbersome, gentle, sprightly and fills every nook and cranny with supple fruit juiciness. Tropical fruit punch without the tang and drawing sweetness. This is balanced and controlled, clean and amazingly quaffable. Lemon candy and pear drops, Semillon grapes (without the astringency), paw-paw and lighter green melon notes. A dryness to the finish gives it a peaking flavour profile that drops off and needs another sip to follow. It is just so well balanced with nothing jumping up or standing out. Only moderately bitter with a touch of pine residing. Doesn't grow tired even as it warms. Very impressively simple. A well made ale!!!! (37,5cL can, BB 22/03/18, Copper & Oak)

Great beer all round. Deep malts and a biscuit undertone that keeps on going. Very nice.

Grain malts, light floral hops, bitter citrus fruits, straw, grass. Clear gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More bitter citrus fruits, lemon peel, light sweet grain malts, straw, grass, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Alright, seems a bit overhyped. Keg at the Coogee Bay Hotel, Coogee.
