Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, bread), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Surprisingly good for such a pale lager...hops are fragrant, mouthfeel is reasonably good, balance is decent, and it's cleaner than many American counterparts...no DMS or metal here. It may not look like much, but it's decent. It's odd how sometimes the simplest/weakest beers are the best from a brewery.

bierkoning (13352) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2003
Pours a big frothy head that diminishes slowly. Worty, grainy orange aroma. Grainy, malty somewhat hopbitter flavor. Medium bodied with just a hint of orange and glue. Decent lager, but not an entirely clean palate.

Common Eastern European Lager - nothing offensive here - nothing to get too excited about. Wet cardboard aroma, slight, quickly dissipating head. Bubbles last throughout and add a nice contrast to the pleasant light golden pale appearance. Flavor - detect a bit of hops - peppery aftertaste - slightly dry on the palate.

Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2003
A pretty good pilslager. Moderate malty nose with bready character. Pale gold brew, webby white head, good homebrew bottle (that wierd grey-brown, not green as pictured currently,) so-so label. Above average mouthfeel, longish finish. Well-balanced enough to be almost indistinct. Pretty smooth drinking.

Aggie80 (818) - Michigan, USA - MAR 18, 2003
Pale Yellow. Heavier hops, but not flowery. Big bubbles in head, bit of lace.

rauchbier (3889) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2003
Bottled. Straw gold, moderate head and low condition. Cloying fruity nose, some solvent in the mouth and a soft fruity finish. Not pleasant.

Ungstrup (37561) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2003
A slightly hazy yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is slightly perfumed with notes of malt and even the brewmash. The taste is very hoppy from the begining almost like a czech beer - but then it becomes a little watery - and the bitterness doesn't linger that long. It is not that sweet - but has a great balance and is a very pleasant beer to drink. Really good for a pilsener.
