I usually dont care for pale lagers much, but this is probably the best one Ive had so far. It had more flavor and aroma then I would have expected. Very malty, and very pleasing.

500ml bottle dated 14.09.06, best by 14.09.07. Crystal clear gold with a white head. Very sweet corny grain nose, lame honey notes. Sweet corn and caramel flavors. Very mild grass in there. Pretty much crap.

Come on guys, how can you not like a name like Baltika? Its right down there with what makes us different than a woman! Clear 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. I guess twist off caps have even made it to the Russian front in Siberia. At first when I popped of this lid, I anticipated and thought I smelled some skunk, only because clear bottle and all. But no, it was more like a clean aroma. After you pour it into the glass, the fragrance turns into a sweet honey perfume, very attractive. This is definitely one of the better smelling lagers Ive encountered. The appearance of this brew is just plain old ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Taste is simply clean and crisp, exactly what a pale lager should be. Sweetish hints linger in the mouth after each sip. No head on this stuff, just a girdle around the inside edge of the glass on to of the brew. After a few slugs a mild industrial feel, that I really dont want to call bitter, coats the inside of the mouth and it builds with each sip. No corn apparent in this brew like so many of its american counterparts. Finish does have a sort of mild metallic processed back of throat linger that hangs for a while. However, this bitterness is not hops nor malts, its just mildly annoying.

16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white sudsy head that completely disappeared after a few sips. Very light aroma of caramel. The flavor is pretty bland with some caramel and a bit of cereal grains noted. Slightly sweet. It lists hops among the ingredients, but I did not not detect any hops presence in this beer. Really not a bad beer, just not that that great either.

Aroma is of bread and dough, very malty. There is a slight sweetness to the taste. Its very thin, no lingering finish. Perfectly good beer for a summer night on the porch.

Light yellow colored, little white head. Aroma is standard Russian: buttery with lemon and sweet fruits. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is nicely crispy with also this butter, cant decide whether this is good or not... Some cardboard in aftertaste with lemon.

Pale blonde color. Light creamy, grainy aroma. Medium bodied. Grainy flavor, rather bland. Some fruity esters in the aftertaste. This beer is bland, but not too bad.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with large head. Foam disappeared quick and left a lot of skunk. Of the three I tasted, this was the worst. I was surprised that the alcohol was only 5.3, must have been the corn that made this taste stronger.

50 cl can. The can says golden lager, and I wont argue about that. It also says premium, I dont know about that. Full malty flavour, some serious hops could have made this more interesting.

Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Strong malt taste, like most lagers should be. Finishes dry and thick malty on tongue. Nothing to write home about.
