COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"’s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2007 Bottle (03/24/07 production). Head is initially average to large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain, husks, dark chocolate), with a note of plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Fairly grainy and otherwise crude, but not too bad. Nice appearance and mouthfeel.

Pretty good, but not as good as I expected after enjoying Baltika #3. Not nearly as good as Okocim or Zywiec porters (although they are from a different country, the style is the same.) On the thin side for the type.

dark black colour, few head, burnt and liquorice aroma, sweet and slightly oily, burnt, raisin, long dry finish

Brown-black coloured. Like the rest of Baltic-Beverage holding's breweries' beer it is sweet and rather unclean. Less full bodied than most Baltic porters. Big raisin flavour.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2005 Bottled. Light roasted coffee aroma. Black color, small light brown head, good lace. Light sweet, not strong in flavors but very nice roasted chocolat and coffee beans, medium body.

One of the best Russian porter but sure far from ideal......................

Leaner than some Baltic Porters, but still carries a few extra pounds in its treacly, winey body.
