A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17

Excellent porter. Forget what I said about other Baltika products being so so. This and No.9 are the exceptions. Smelled of fruit and chocolate. The boozy undertones were subdued in this beer. One of my favorites to enjoy during the winter months. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown in colour. Aroma and flavour have light caramel and dark roasted malts. A bit on the sweet side but quite flavoursome.

Earthy, figs and plums for aroma. Flavors of brown sugar, dark fruits, and crunchy apples. Big and bold. Not bad really

Bottle from Bevmo. Refrigerated with a best by date of 4/16/16. It pours a deep brown color with ruby highlights and a lightly foamy tan head. The aroma is fruity with notes of cherry, raisins, plums, light malt syrup and brown sugar. The flavor is caramel heavy with burnt sugar, plum, burnt toast and raisins. Hint of ash in the finish. The body is a bit weak for the style, but the flavors are potent and complex. Theres only a light hint of herbal hops in the finish. Pretty enjoyable, especially for the price. Would purchase again.

Dark pour, thin toffee colored head. Nose is dark roasted grain. Middle has a medium mouth feel, dark kilned grain, milkshake sweetness. Finish is light for the style. My favorite beer from this stable.

It is an average porter. I bought the bottle in drink of the world in Geneva. The carbonation is low, nice foam and dark. The taste is really malty, not a lot of hop and one side sweet, typical from the East Porter.

Piana obfita, lekko wymuszona, drobnopęcherzykowa, beżowa, lekko koronkuje. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta, czerwone refleksy. Aromat palonego słodu, lekko alkoholowy. W smaku bardzo alkoholowe, czuć lekko palony słd. Goryczka niska, piwo zostawia kwaśny posmak. W ustach wodniste.

Sample from 16.9oz bottle in pint glass. Appearance: pours a thick cream color head that drops quickly with almost no lacing. Color dark reddish-brown. Aroma: strong roasted barley, chocolate, earthy hops, and a bit of alcohol Mouthfeel: medium and frothy with a dry, almost powdery finish. Flavor: rich roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, earthy and herbal hops. Overall: very nice. The roasted malts blend well with the hops and the alcohol presence is well hidden.

Grainy, slight green aroma coupled with a fairly sweet, roasty character. Smells crisp and well-balanced with a touch of fruit. Very dark. Black. Rich malty sweetness balanced by a crisp, clean ferment followed by dark fruits. I think this is probably what the BJCP sat down with when writing up the definition of a Baltic Porter.
