A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 Solid black with a brown head, this beer looks like an impressive porter. The aroma is burnt and strong on coffee; smells sweeter than it tastes. The taste is good, a decent combination of coffee, oatmeal, and subtle caramel. The burnt malt flavor is really enjoyable. Mouthfeel is unpleasantly slick, however. A good fair-priced import porter, not the greatest but still enjoyable. Something still macro-ish about it.

Had no idea what to expect from this when I ordered it. Very dark and almost had a burnt toast quality mingled with a syrupiness that was strange. No real reason to go back to this one.

Nice creamy head, long lasting, black color. Aroma: coffee, chocolate, dark malts. Taste: roasted, quite bitter, dark fruit, medium to full body, oily. Well balanced. Though I noticed that the taste differs from bottle to bottle.

Bottle to glass. Aroma: strong dark dried fruit: Plums. Raisins. Figs. Sweet caramel. No hops or esters noticed. Appearance: clear very dark brown with mahogany highlights - almost black. Tan persistent head. Low moderate lacing. Flavor: dried fruit, subtle but noticeable roasty flavor. Not burned or acrostic by any means. Sweetness at first replaced by balanced lingering bitterness in aftertaste. Mouthfeel: medium high body. Slight alcohol warmth. Moderate carbonation. overall: an excellent example of Baltic porter - well balanced and very drinkable despite high abv. Best beer from Russia for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from WB Stores, West Bromwich. Really good. Deep brown. Deep taste. Sharp, bitter ashy stoutness. Shoes, fags, cereal. Great hit of booze. Smooth. Excellent.

Nasycenie niskie, pasuje.

Bottle courtesy of SarkyNortherner (thanks Martin!)... Very dark indigo/brown. Not much head but a little bit of visible carbonation. Full prune and liquorice aroma, with a hint of smoke. Mellow sweet taste, with chocolate, plum, some brandy. Well-judged carbonation on the smooth finish. To say its a cut above other Baltika beers would be a bit of an understatement.

Dark body with a moderate to thin body. Finishes more bitter than sweet, kind of a funny finish.
