COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17

Bottle to porter glass. Aroma is herbal and like some kind of green plant. Taste is mostly roasted malt with hop balance. Finish is decent. Good carbonation. Very different from European and American porters. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ciemne piwo, w butelce płlitrowej, z wytłaczanymi napisami, herbem browaru prawdopodobnie. Duży plus do wyglądu.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 From a Russian restaurant in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY, known as Tatianas. I asked for Baltika and she asked the type in broken English. I said strong and got this one. Funny/odd way of ordering but why not? Slight aroma of licorice and some toasty malts as well as some light sweetness you wouldnt expect. Nice and dark color with little light escaping from slight opaqueness but the head is poor. Taste is similar but with some more sweetness. A bit of a dry finish with a hint of alcohol. Nothing too special but nothing off-putting. While I wouldnt recommend this to a beer lover, it is clearly drinkable and works quite well with the meat and potatoes found way too often in Russian cuisine. It works. I am generally not a fan of porters but I liked this...maybe I just dont like the absolute bitterness of most of them? Ive had this since. Updated as the rating was a bit too low.

Opaca, casi negra. Espuma muy firme. Aroma a malta tostada y caf. Malta dulce en el sabor con base de caramelo y chocolate. Poco caf tambin. Licrica, debido a la baja carbonatacin sobre todo. En cualquier caso est buena.

Shared my bottle with a few friends at a Labor Day party. Poured a very nice dark brown with tan head. Fluffy head lasted longer than I had expected. Aromas were some chocolate, but the taste fell a bit with some metallic aftertastes.

Dark, nearly black, no head, no lacing. It has an aroma of alcohol and roasted malts. Somewhere between a light and medium body. Tastes very sweet and malty, with a tad bit of hop bitterness...coffee flavor, evident alcohol. Not a bad beer, and it's cheap price may get me to buy it again some day.

Best beer we tasted on tap. Usually you bring your own jar (as in jamjar). This one is dark in colour, but only slightly malty on the tastebuds.
