SphinxTX (2878) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Bottle thanks to Mar. Pours a straw yellow with fast fading white head. Aroma of corn, faint hop citrus, faint malt. Flavor much the same with a bit of card board added. Mouth feel is light body and watery with high carbonation. Overall, I kinda expected this....wasn’t shocked.

junon (430) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Grassy aroma. Very pale and almost lite beerish in appearance. Body is again teetering on the lite beer edge. What little flavour there is is all up front and fades into nothing. Cool bottle cap though.

A green bottle with a... wait for it.... tabbed bottle top. Yes, a pop-top bottle, but the lid was somehow tabbed.Once the tabbed was lifted, my nose was attacked by searing skunk ass and bile. Then I poured the bilge. It’s a two feet away, and it smells like a skunk died in my living room. Aroma is skunk, grains, hot garbage, and beer sin. Flavor is grain, soured corn, butter, and vomit. Bubbly mouthfeel.

Dacrza (1035) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - JAN 16, 2010
Situation: New Year’s Eve--round one, thanks to the Baltika gift pack (8.99 witha glass) Glassware: the Baltika gift glass... Appearance: light, almost golden yellow body with a nice cirrus cloud of off-white head; diligent effervescence--not too bad on the approach... Aroma: classic Eastern European pilsner scents--hay, honey and sharp sugars... Palate: medium-bodied, puckerish on the lips and lacking on the backend; the aftertaste, albeit weak, has some staying power... Taste: rounded, heavily malted lager--sweetness of sugar and honey; clean and smooth, with a hint of complexity... Overall: excellent lacing and the Baltika glass makes this a compelling drink on New Year’s Eve, although I bet if this were next Thursday night, I might not be as festively aroused by its aesthetics... pours well with potato skins, pizza bites and mozzarella sticks...

JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JAN 15, 2010
Bottle sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective "From Russia With Suds" tasting on 1/2/10. Clear yellow pour with a thin white head. Crisp nose with some sweet malt. Malty sweet flavor with some crisp hop. Pretty light overall.

dedelste (16) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 15, 2010
Gift bottle (LCBO or Beer Store). Pale, small head, good carbonation. Smells like a pale lager, cereal/corn, stronger than some, not unpleasant. Tastes about the same, slight sourness. Harmless, no more.

Quack-Duck (9533) - Down South, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2010
bottle froma local Russian supermarket. Clear golden colour, large white head. Malty nose. Full-bodied. Rather sweet malty body with an aromatic hoppy finish, resulting in a bitter-sweet character (with emphasis on sweet). As the beer gets warmer, the hops get "dusty". Quite nice, perhaps a bit too much on the sweet side.

zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JAN 6, 2010
(bottle - 330 ml) Clear gold pour with a soapy white head. Aroma is light and grassy with some corn, malts, and dry hops. Flavor begins slightly sweet with a dry and malty middle. Some bitter hops and wet hay come through near the end with a dry and sweet finish. Drinkable and really nice when ice cold.

2.4
Dogbrick (13763) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 6, 2010
Sample at the "From Russia With Suds" tasting on 01/02/10: The beer is a clear bright yellow color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Biscuit malt, straw and mild hops in the nose. Light body with flavors of sweet toasted malt and mildly peppery hops. The finish is clean and malty with a lightly grassy hops aftertaste. Below average overall.
