Sure looks pretty. Straw yellow with a nice head and a really nice lace. Smells...weird, as if there's something wrong with it. There's some fruit esters but other than that it's malt. And that weird scent. Tastes... Wait, this is supposed to be a lager? WTF? Serious fruit esters but they're just not right. It does hide the alcohol. Mouthfeel is much thicker than I was expecting. Drinkability? Pass. I'll take the other Baltikas first, thanks.

not too swift here. Suggest you pass. Taste of corn, some malt and a rather unpleasant psudo hop finish.

Poured at tasting with 2 others and I was the only one brave enough to swallow. Pale yellow with a weak white "head" little to no aroma and taste was same. Terrible, drain pour.

500ml bottle at home. Pours pale golden with small white head. Aroma of malt, gluey alcohol and some x hops. Medium sweetness and ligh to medium bitterness. Not that bad actually, the maltiness is better than I expected.

Clear yellow pour with a white head that vanishes real quick. Nose of some corn, and floral scents. Flavor is slightly sweet honey with no detectable hops. Its very brazen about its alcohol content making next to no attempt to disguise its fuel notes. Might be good for a cold winter night in Russia, but it was a poor choice for a warm summer day at lunch.

Thanks to ghawener. Drank it in El Flor. Same as No.7. Can you say maize!! Brewed with many adjuncts which gives it the maize aroma and taste. Skunky.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2004 Medium gold in color with a moderate fizzy head and an aroma that was somewhat fruity and boozy. Light to medium bodied and sweet, with a doctors office alcohol presence and a few hops in the background. The finish was slightly bitter and the alcohol lingered. I read somewhere that for health reasons the Russian government is trying to encourage the populace to switch from vodka to beer, and that may be a reasonable goal, but I don't think they're going to solve anything serving this stuff.
