Pours a pale, cloudy golden with a white head. A syrupy alcohol dominates the nose, with a slight malt aroma also. Overly sweet in flavour, with syrupy alcohol, sweet malt, artificial banana and caramel all far too strong. Sweet malt, banana and alcohol on the finish, not very pleasant to drink. Malt liquor all over.

Been a while since I had this one, but memorable enough. It tastes like it was transferred to the bottle from a can that was already partially dissolved from contact with the Baltika.

Fairly smooth Euro malt liquor/strong beer. Alcohol predominant but good effervescence without being overcarbed or totally undrinkable.

Bought from local liquor store in a 500ml bottle. Appearance: poors pale golden with a thin, white head that quickly melting away. Nose: boozy, some malts and sweets. Taste: quite sweet and malty. Not so great hop. Notice the alcohol immidiatly. Tastes a bit like a cheap lager with a shot of vodka in it. Nice try..

From a bottle labeled Baltika Grade 9 Extra Lager... 8.0% abv. Im betting this is a fairly fresh batch. Pours clear gold with head and lace. Aroma of light malts, honey, grains. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of light malts, amber malt, slight cereal, sugar, minerals, light hops. Overall flavorful, easy drinking, a tad sweet but nevertheless tasty and decent for the style of strong pale lager.

Not the best beer and not expected to be. An 8% lager never promises a lot, and it doesnt here. Sweet stuff. Bottle from Slijterij Groningen, formerly Mitra Vismarkt

The most famous E. European strong lager, and indeed for a reason. Finally got to have the fresher version in its hometown and its great stuff--light bodied but full-flavored, lively carbonation, nice/smooth/non-overwhelming alcohol burn. A privilege to rate it as my 1000th!
