Tasted this at the Troon BF on the 6th October 2017. Cask, gravity dispense. Mahogany black in colour with a thin white head. Strong malty aroma with overtones of dark berry fruit. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malts give a moist fruitloaf base with strong notes of blackberry fruit and molasses. Damp earthy hops give a light bitter aftertaste which fades away. Hints of roast malt is in there but always in the background. Finish is smooth, malty and vinous with warming port notes of fermenting fruits of the forest, wine gums and sweet molasses present in the mouth. A complex and smooth porter full of vinous flavours. Excellent and full of complexity. john44 (3331) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2017

Cask at GBBF. Black with a red hue, small bubbly tan head. Aroma is red berry, a little gluey, soft malts. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is resinous, chocolate, red berry. They say it has port overtones - I guess there is some berry action. Decent.
