Banks Beer, the beer of Barbados, is a premium pilsner style lager with a smooth, fresh aroma and a medium alcohol content. Banks is brewed from a pure classic blend of 2-Row British and Australian malted barleys deliciously flavored by Yakima Clusters and the noble Styrian Goldings aroma hops. It is however Barbados’ water, naturally filtered through limestone rock, along with our own special strain of yeast, which give Banks Beer its unique Bajan character and distinctive quality. Consistently the #1 choice among beer drinkers in Barbados since it was first produced in 1961.

From tap. Pours pale yellow with a crispy white head. Aroma is slight grassy but also soft malty. Flavour is mild bitterness with a nice minor fruity note just before the finish. Definitely a bit better than other Caribbean pale lagers. In the humid warm weather of Barbados this is a perfect beer.

Plastic bottle. A golden beer with a white head. The aorma is sweet malty with notes of straw and grain and a light touch of brewmash. The flavor is sweet malty with a weird note of grain and brewmash. OK, but the body is a bit thin. Thanks yespr for bringing this home.

Pale yellow colour. Very weak aroma of malts. Crsip flavor with hints of malt. Easy drinking. Not much hop flavor and no bitterness in the aftertaste. Thanks to my mother for bringing it back from Barbados.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, grains, bready malts, some slight notes of maize. Flavour is maize, mild grassy notes, some hay as well as mild honeyish and salty notes as well. Refreshing and nice on a hot summers day.

Bottle courtesy of yespr, thank you sir! Bright golden color, small white head, moderate lacing. Aroma of white pepper and wet cardboard. Taste is burnt cardboard and charcoal. Should not be ingested by humans.

Pale golden. Light bodied. Not much flavour to speak about. Unexciting quencher.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2007
(Plastic bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear, pilsener golden with a whiff of flowers in the aroma. Thin-bodied with a very discreet malt base and basically no bitterness. Typical - but drinkable - holiday swill. 290607
