Banks Beer, the beer of Barbados, is a premium pilsner style lager with a smooth, fresh aroma and a medium alcohol content. Banks is brewed from a pure classic blend of 2-Row British and Australian malted barleys deliciously flavored by Yakima Clusters and the noble Styrian Goldings aroma hops. It is however Barbados water, naturally filtered through limestone rock, along with our own special strain of yeast, which give Banks Beer its unique Bajan character and distinctive quality. Consistently the #1 choice among beer drinkers in Barbados since it was first produced in 1961.

Bottle. Pours a pale crystal clear gold, with white short lived froth. Nose aint much, a little caramel, a touch of toast. Taste is almost entirely absent, but it is at least very clean. I suppose it serves a purpose as a cooler or thirst quencher.

Bland with minimal excitement for the palate. Not much aroma or head. That said, its fairly refreshing. Pretty standard lager.

Aroma: typical cheap lager; cereal and corn syrup; Appearance: clear straw with billowy white head that disappears quickly; Taste: follows nose with even more sweetness; Palate: light bodied with weak finish; Overall: as expected.

Pours wan straw yellow with a thick but effervescent eggshell head. Aroma delivers yeasty and malty tones, not spectacular but acceptable. Malty flavor is fairly typical, a little fruit and a bit of hops, average but enjoyable. Mouthfeel features so-so body and OK fizz. Well, its another rating.

12 oz. bottle of "Caribbean Lager" with a best by date of May 2012 (from Dec. 2011 notes), served in a pint glass. An attractive beer, being crystal clear, golden-yellow, with a 1.5 finger white head. The head dissipates quickly, however, and the light coloration accurately predicts a light taste. Lightly skunky in both aroma and flavor, this beer is thirst-quenching and easy to down. The light-bodied mouthfeel is amply, but not over, carbonated. Thats about the best that can be said. In addition to the skunky off-aroma and off-flavor, this beer has a weak finish and very little aftertaste. The sweetness in the aroma is followed by a largely balanced (sweet-bitter) taste.

Bottle, 330ml. Pale straw colour with a small head. Aroma is hoppy and musty. Flavour is hoppy with sweet corn notes. Moderate carbonation. Not too bad for a lager.

Bottle on the cruise at the RedFrog Pub. Pale golden, thin white head. Light malt and grain, rice maybe? flavor. Not a lot of character, but crisp and drinkable.
