2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2013 Nose is light, coffee, a little cola. Taste is vanilla, hazelnut, figs, slight lactose, sticky sweet slightly vinious finish. As it warmed it got a strong coffee liqueur taste. Mouthfeel far too thin for the style, perhaps suited to warmer climes.
A thin stout.
Poured deep dark brown with a small off white ring. Aroma of roast malt and milk chocolate. Medium body, flavour as the aroma. Leighton (22021) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 31, 2015
Bottle shared at Scopey’s 5K tasting - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy tan head. Sugary dark malt aroma. Syrupy flavor, with some bready malts, brown sugar, toffee and dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary bread dominates the finish. OK. sinfull (1776) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 14, 2015
Black color ;thin , beige head. Roasted malt , coffee and ... Alcohol in aroma , too much alcohol for 5% ABV beer. Sweet taste , balanced by roasted bitterness, smooth and pleasant. Good enough , but that alcohol in aroma ... PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 26, 2015

New Beer Distributors, NYC ($2.25): Pours near black with a tan head that doesn’t leave much in the way of lacing. Aroma is chocolate and burnt sugar... not bad. Taste is pretty sweet. Reminds me a bit of cheap chocolate. Very low bitterness. Also, low carbonation that is actually a plus for this beer, as it makes it easier to drink. Bottle from Beers of the World. Darkish brown colour, thin foam. Nice bottle. Hmm milk stout. Difficult one to get right this. I actually enjoyed this example, some nice treacly roasty flavours, and a creamy sweetish palate. Balanced, sweetness by no means cloying. Roasted and creamy flavours dominate. Quite decent. olliejobbins (1578) - Dorking, Surrey, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2015
275ml bottle from tesco. pours very dark brown, almost black with dark head. aroma is cocoa powder, nesquik, liquorice and molasses. nice weak chocolate taste. not over carbonated with a malty finish. Maxbier (999) - Maryland, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Rated blind (wife poured and hid the bottle until I finished my rating). Notes: Dark reddish-black with tan head. Aroma of vanilla, rum, sugar cane, chocolate milk. Creamy velvety, flavors of sugar cane (rum barrel?). Very low carbonation (may be an old bottle). Milky lingering finish. Garrold (5506) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2014
Bottle. B&M. Clear, very dark red. Has a tan halo to begin with, which disappears completely. Some tarry, fudgy chocolate. Hint of coffee grinds. A little liquorice. Taste is sweet. A bit of powdery dryness. Decent mouthfeel. A bit of cola drink about it. Finishes very light bitter, with a slight tartness.
