Award-winning Barley Gold is a hearty, potent and warming strong ale. The colour of deep burnished gold, it’s produced from copious quantities of the finest natural brewing ingredients. Brimful with fruity, malty, bitter-sweet flavours, that are underpinned by the strength derived from a prolonged conditioning period.
This rich complex beer is particularly suitable as a partner to red meat, game and strong cheeses such as Roquefort.

Bottle 27,5 cl. Average beige bubbly head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Hazy copper / amber color. Aroma of mellow rye bread, toffee, roasted malt, mild cherry like, raisins and fruity notes as well. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness and a mild twist of acidic. Sweet toasted toffee finish.

Can: Clear, copper-amber with a small, off-white head. Orange, light toffee, grain scent. Taste is grain malt, bitter alcohol and weak caramel malt. Light body....thin, overall.

Can. Lemon/orange, biscuit malt, and fresh hay aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet citrus, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Okay body. Pleasant.

330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, May 16. 2010 ’vintage’. Brought by Mike. Many thanks. Pours deep orangey brown. Thin off-white head. Aroma is muggy caramel. Taste brings aged honey, musty caramel, a familiar barley wine sweetness and some cobwebs. Perhaps doesn’t age well, or wasn’t that great to start with.

RobertDale (6755) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - APR 30, 2016
Can. Thanks Asbjorn. Pours a pale gold with an average white head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is malt, grain, and metal. Somewhat below average.

Can from the fart dungeon. Lots of adjunct garbage in the aroma. Pale yellow with no head. Taste is complete garbage. Just horrible like apples and peppers. Gross
