22. Pours black with a very brief burnt tan head. Big sweet nose, kind of fumey, smells like a bit of ethanol snuck in on this one. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Roasty dark bittersweet chocolate mid palate, again with the treacly sweet ethanol notes. Mild sweet finish.

Well, crud, I have not been able to get repeat enjoyment out of this one, certainly not of the 4+ level like my first experience last year in Seattle. Everything else I’ve tried from BI up here in Alaska has been disappointing, so either quality has dropped or they’re very inconsistent. Rather watery and tart, like the other stuff from them that I’ve sampled on this trip. At least the aroma is still nice. Black color with tan foam. Tobacco, medium roast malt, chocolate aromas. Medium bodied. Nice dark roast, ash tobacco, black coffee flavors--good kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2013
Tap. Pours a clear flat black body with a small foamy light brown head. The nose is really nice, roasty and chocolaty with an underlying caramel sweetness and a little coffee. The flavor is on the sweeter side for the style, but it’s not overly distracting. The finish is laced with a big of coffee and burnt malt, lingering coffee note. Medium to full bodied with a little clingy sweetness and a soft gentle carbonation level. Not a bad stout, but not among the best. MrTipple (6952) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2015
Aroma: toasted malts, coffee, chocolate. Appearance: black, small, beige head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: bitters continue, aroma repeating itself with toasted flavours, coffee and chocolate notes, medium duration and body. Overall: nice Stout, well-rounded and made, but nothing too innovative. Bottle from Sled Dog, Canyon.
