Flavor is dry and malty, pretty boring with only a touch of floral notes and caramel to provide some depth. Light/medium body and medium carbonation. Dark gold, creamy white head. Soft grapefruit aromas with undercurrents of earth and florals. Soft spicy citric-pine flavor rounds with a kiss of sweet caramel. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, light bittersweet finish. Nice brew to pair with the ribs.... arventresca (567) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 23, 2009
Typical brew pub red ale. Very sweet and sticky. Not to pleasant aftertaste. A little on the weaker side aswell. Aurelius (5437) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Light western hop aroma -- also lightly caramel. The ’red’ was actually less red than their ale. Briny brothy, medium hopping. Clumsy. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - DEC 3, 2006
On tap-pours a standard clear copper color w/a slight white head. Not a lot of aroma, a touch of roasted malt. Has a weak roasted malt/barley flavor w/just a touch of hops-does give it a little more bite than your standard Amber. Slight metalic/medicinal finish. Not a great example-but better than the Macro crap.
