New England Style IPA
We paired hard-to-find Australian Galaxy hops (gorgeous tropical fruit flavor) with the now famous Vermont Yeast (producing big peachy esters) for a stone & tropical fruit bonanza. Formerly known as Galaxy Quest, same recipe, trademark fun for everyone! Food Pairing: Jerk Chicken with Habenero Peach Salsa

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed golden amber with a medium sized white head. Soft citrus, a touch of greenness, a bit of peach, a bit of fruit. Medium bodied, earthy green notes, not quite onion, but a touch vegetal. Slow citrus into the finish, a bit of fruit, gentle bitterness.

mcberko (18977) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 27, 2017
On tap at Barebottle, pours a cloudy peachy golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with piney hops, some dankness and herbal notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops, light citrus and dankness. Yeasty and cloudy, but nicely expressive in the hop department. Very good.

It’s interesting to see this described as a New England style IPA, especially by a West Coast brewer who might not be expected to pay homage to the more malty and more subdued hop profile. I didn’t know this stylistic choice when I drank it, though, and I didn’t pick it out as such a beer... It’s good, just not that stylistically distinctive. Bottle.
